Hi all, I have been eagerly awaiting the next Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop and it is HERE!!!  Woohoo!  Today I made a birthday card for one of my dear friends, and I thought she would love the pun.

Perk Up Card

I started with Your Next Stamp Crazy for Coffee patterned paper mounted on black cardstock, placed on a white card base.  Next I die cut Sunny Studios Fancy Frames Square dies, and placed the outside scallop on the bottom with the coffee cup (info on that to follow) and the inside scallop frame around the Perk Up sentiment that I white heat embossed.  That sentiment came from an A-Muse coffee themed stamp set.

The coffee mug was a Peel & Stick outline sticker from Elizabeth Craft Designs and put it onto Elizabeth Craft Designs Microfine glitter paper and colored it in using alcohol markers.  I fussy cut it out and popped it up with the frame.

The inside teacup and teapot border was a die from Your Next Stamp.  I won both the patterned paper and that fabulous die (along with other great goodies) from them at the last coffee blog hop!!!  The Sentiment is from Honey Bee Stamps (2 different sets), I like to mix it up, obviously!

Howdy fellow crafters, today I wanted to make a scrapbook layout, I have not had time lately to scrap and I missed it terribly.  I decided I wanted to join in on a challenge, and what better challenge than Scrap The Boys!  I recently announced that I am a new member on their card maker’s team, so I was excited to enter their scrapbook layout challenge.  The link for the challenge is Here and you can enter your own layout or just check out all the other entries and the Design Teams inspiration.

The theme is Great Outdoors, so I had a picture of my hubby being the captain of our pontoon at a lake in Arkansas. 😉

Boating Adventures Layout

The inspiration for the layout was from Get It Scrapped, Single and Pretty lessons by Debbie Hodge.  I love her lessons, they are so well explained and demonstrated.  I have been a member of Get It Scrapped for a long time and I learn something new every time I watch her.  🙂

I used Echo Park and Carta Bella papers, alphas and embellishments.  The View Finder stencil is from Balzer Designs and I sponged it with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink onto a base of Bazzill paper in Lagoon.  The cute little anchor tag is a die I received free with an order and I believe it was from Sunny Studios, but I am not positive.  I looked at their online shop and did not see it there any longer.

A Cat in the Christmas Tree!

Season’s Greetings!  I needed a kitty Christmas card for my friend so I used my Raisin Boat’s Naughty or Nice stamp set.  There is an adorable cat pawing at an ornament that just screamed “Use Me!”…So I did! The hysterical sentiment was also from this set.  “Christmas tree…the reason cats need 9 lives”  😀

I colored him in with my ShinHan alcohol markers and I used Sunny Studio Stamps pine branch from the Holiday Style stamp set for the extra branches (which I stamped super lightly in Pear ink that had been stamped off twice) and I added flicks with my alcohol markers to give it interest.  I used this stamp on the inside of the card as well and used a CTMH sentiment stamp.

I stamped the pine boughs in CTMH Pear ink and the sentiment both on the front and inside with CTMH Cranberry ink.  I went over the ornament with my Wink of Stella and topped it off with Glossy Accents to give it dimension.  I mounted this on red cardstock that  was added to a piece of holly patterned paper I had in my stash.  Oh, I almost forgot I also put a strip of white Shimmer Tape from Close To My Heart across the front to add some sparkle. I LOVE that stuff!

I decided to enter this in three current challenges, the first one for the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies Challenge #9 that you can access Here and the Color My Heart Color Dare Extravaganza Color Dare #272 for Traditional colors, that you can access Here.  Third, 4 Crafty Chicks blog challenge #381 Christmas/Winter Critters Here

All That Glitters

Salutations!  All that glitters is NOT just gold, it is silver, and snow and glass too!

I had to make some tags for our annual Christmas Ornament Exchange party and could not resist Sunny Studio Stamps Holiday Style to fill the bill.

I started out by stamping the pine branch in VersaMark ink and sprinkling Ranger Silver Tinsel Embossing Powder on it and heat setting it.  This was the first time I used it and just LOVE the look.  Helpful Tip… Begin the heat setting/melting process from underneath the image, then finish up on top, the reason is, it gives the glitter pieces a chance to adhere and not get blown right off the paper.  Same concept as when you use the thick embossing powders.

I hope you can see the sparkle of the “tinsel” it is really beautiful in real life.  🙂

Next I stamped the ornament, beginning with Close To My Heart Glacier ink for the base layer circle and stamping CTMH Lagoon, which has been stamped off once, as the shadow piece.  It was way too dark to do without stamping it off first.  I added a piece of silver jewelers thread to “hang” it from the branch.  I popped up the ornament with a foam square, stamped “FROM” in Lagoon ink on the bottom, snipped off the top corners, added some matching blue baker’s twine and called it done.

I thought this would be a great project to submit for a Non-Traditional Holiday Colors challenge #273 going on at Color My Heart – Color Dare Challenge Blog, you can see all the great inspiration Here or even submit some inspiration of your own!

Alcohol Marker, Basic Grey, Copic, Crescent Tag Topper, Distress Inks, Fishtail Banner, Sunny Studios, Sunsational Stamps

Hello there!  I am continuing on my Christmas in July mode, I knew I was going to need some extra tags for the holidays and I wanted to use my new image from Sunsational Stamps, Snowman Soup Set which you can find Here.  This set is so cute, besides having several cups of wintry delight to choose from, there are many sentiments and adorable faces you can add to your snowmen.

Snowman Soup Tags

To make the tag I used Sunny Studios Crescent Tag Topper Dies and their Fishtail Banner Dies.  I absolutely love these in combination with one another.  The tag top has several sizes to choose from and you can make them as long or as short at you like.  The toppers also come with adorable little reinforcer dies in various shapes, I used the circle and star for my tags.  The Fishtail Banner dies come in four styles, and I used them all!  They have deep tick marks in each die to make lining them up straight on your project a breeze!

The paper I chose was Basic Grey, from my stash, obviously an oldie since they have been out of business for a while now.  I love finding stuff in my stash I completely forgot about…it is like Christmas morning when that happens.  Pun intended.  😉

Snowman Soup Tags

I colored my snowman with Copics and I shaded the cups with Distress Inks.  The white base was scored 1/8 inch from edge on all sides to give it subtle interest.  I popped up the mugs on the front of the tag, added bakers twine (from the dollar bin at Target) and voila!

Remember there is still time to enter our July Challenge, just upload any Christmas themed project you like and you will be entered in a drawing for a fabulous prize from Sunsational Stamps.  Click Here to get to the challenge.  Good luck!
