For my project I used the Happy Howl-aween image below.

Happy Howl-aween Watermarked Stamp

I created this layout with the Happy Howl-aween images and I just LOVE how the ghosts are so whimsical.  I am all about cutesy Halloween!

Happy Howl-aween layout

I printed the digital image in several different sizes.  I used the largest size of the tombstone and ghosts for the foreground and the moon.  Then I used smaller varying sizes of the tombstones and ghosts and fussy cut them separately so I could pepper them throughout the scene.  I fussy cut hills and popped up the front hill so I could layer the tombstones.  The haunted house and fence were cut out using the CTMH Artbooking Cricut cartridge.  I then distressed the edges of the title and sponged on Scattered Straw Distress Ink and attached it to a piece of orange tulle that I gathered in the center to make a spooky bow.

Good Evening….channeling Alfred Hitchcock.

I started making Halloween cards already, as I have many I have to make for some of my best customers!  As soon as I saw the stamp set Batty for You I knew what I wanted to do with it.  I just love this adorable little bat (I named him Boris).

I ran some brown card stock through my eBosser using the Teresa Collins Woodgrain embossing folder, then cut out freehand, a partial tree.  I punched out a circle using my 1-1/2 inch punch to use as a mask for the moon.  I then distressed around the mask using Scattered Straw, Ripe Persimmons, Iced Spruce and then rocking a lightly inked sponge for the haze/clouds using Black Soot.

‘Boris’ was colored using alcohol markers and topped off with both Wink of Stella and American Crafts Glitter Pens in dark grey and purple.  The sentiment was colored in using a Distress pen in Twisted Citron then pop up using foam dots.

I hope you liked today’s card.  You can go to http://www.sunsationalstamps.com to purchase this stamp/image along with many more.  Follow our blogs and like us on Facebook!

Oodles of Hellos to you!  I have been busy making cards…yes again, or should I say STILL.  🙂  I am looking forward to finishing up with all my recent card orders so I can concentrate on scrapbooking.  I haven’t been able to make page layouts in quite a while and I am missing it.

But I digress…  Today I have a couple of Thank You cards that I made using the CTMH Choose Happy Stamp of the Month set for March, and one of the cards is being entered into a stencil challenge.  I circle punched an index card with three size  circles and then laid a Tim Holtz circle stencil over the holes and randomly stenciled the tiny holes into the large punched holes to get this effect:

Stencil within a Stencil Technique

This was a lot of fun to do.  I then laid the punched out circles over the stenciled areas so I could add TH Distress Ink in Peeled Paint in the background.  The distress colors I used for the stenciled areas were; Evergreen Bough, Scattered Straw and Tumbled Glass.  The Thanks Oodles frame was colored with the ShinHan alcohol markers in the following colors; Peacock, Turquoise and Leaf Green.  These colors are so pretty together, and I just LOVE the frames in this stamp set, it is so whimsical.  The stamp set is only available through the end of March.

Happy Harvest to you! I don’t need to remind anyone that Thanksgiving is just around the corner, but there is still plenty of time to put together some cards for those special people in your life that you are grateful for.

I have been busy making many different designs because I have a very sweet collection of autumn stamps and stamp sets that include saying of gratitude.

Bits & Pieces for the makings of an assortment of Thanksgiving cards

The tree card was stamped with Close To My Heart – Always Grateful, as well as the inside of that card.  The sign on the wood grain embossed card was also stamped with a sentiment in this set.

I colored the tree and grass with a small sponge dauber and Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  I used Scattered Straw, Wild Honey & Peeled Paint.  I mounted the picture onto golden-yellow card stock.  I wrapped a K&Co. gold ribbon around a piece of patterned paper cut 1/8 inch smaller than the card base and assembled as shown above.  I stamped the inside with Cocoa Brown Memento ink using a sentiment from the stamp set.

This card was made using the Teresa Collins eBosser and Tim Holtz wood grain embossing folder.  I cut out leaves from various patterned paper using the Close To My Heart Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  This same leaf and acorn are in the CTMH stamp set Fall Harvest and I stamped the acorn and then colored it with my ShinHan alcohol markers.  I used that stamp set with the leaf and acorn cut outs for the next card seen below.

Using my Cricut I cut out the leaves at 2 inches and stamped them with CTMH pigment inks (Topiary, Sunset & Cranberry).  I just love how vibrant the colors are.  I stamped the wreath and “Life is Good” with the CTMH Remarkable Wreath (retired) stamp set.  The wreath was stamped in 3 layers.  First I used Sunset pigment ink with the leaf half circle and of course stamped it twice to make a circle.  Then I used the Cocoa Brown Memento ink to stamp the wreath over the leaves.  Last, I stamped the berries in Cranberry pigment ink as the top layer.  The inside was stamped with the Curlicues Alpha set that came with the Close To My Heart Artfully Sent Cricut bundle.

I hope you enjoyed todays cards and techniques.  Thank you for stopping by and remember to click on the left panel to follow our blog so you don’t miss a thing.  Like us on Facebook and stop by our online shop for more inspiration!
