Yikes!  It is almost Halloween and if you are like me you have a lot of little details to catch up on.  I had a party I attended over the weekend and I brought homemade Salted Caramel Cupcakes with cutesy Halloween picks in them and of course a hostess gift.  I chose a Bloody Mary mix 😉 one with a scary name to boot!

The Bloody Mary bottle tag was first stenciled with Fired Brick Distress Stain and Tim Holtz Speckles stencil that was gifted to me by one of my scrappy friends.  🙂  Thanks T!  Next I sponged a small area in the center with Ripe Persimmons Distress Ink so the Martini glass would pop.  The Bring On The Boos stamp is from the Holiday Spirits stamp set by Stampin’ UP!  I masked it off and stamped the sentiment directly on the “spattered” background and stamped the martini (with the eyeball olive) separately, colored it with alcohol markers and fussy cut it out, adhering it with foam tape.

The cupcake picks were stamped using Close To My Heart Frightfully Fun stamp set.  As you can see, I go for cutesy over scary…but I could not resist a little gore for the hostess gift.  The circles for the back base of the picks were punched out using Doodlebug’s latest Halloween collection October 31st.  Now how is that for cute?!

I had SO MUCH fun coloring these adorable little characters.  I used my alcohol markers and distressed the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink.

I hope I have inspired some frightfully fun projects for you to try.  Please follow our blog by clicking on the Follow Us link and like us on Facebook so you don’t miss a trick…or treat.  Bwahaha!

Gobble, Gobble all!  I have been hard at work creating a flock of Thanksgiving cards, and here is one of those creations using the Turkey stamp/image from Sunsational Stamps. Isn’t he adorable?!  I decided to sponge on Distress Ink, layering Ripe Persimmons and Mustard Seed to create a ombre effect.  Once I had it blended the way I wanted it I flicked some water onto it to get those water spots.  Next I cut it out on my eBosser using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Square dies.  I then layered it on a square of dark orange cardstock, and then the tone on tone patterned base adding a few green pearls.  Finally I die cut the sentiment from a scrap piece of green and glued them to a thin strip of dark yellow.

Good Evening….channeling Alfred Hitchcock.

I started making Halloween cards already, as I have many I have to make for some of my best customers!  As soon as I saw the stamp set Batty for You I knew what I wanted to do with it.  I just love this adorable little bat (I named him Boris).

I ran some brown card stock through my eBosser using the Teresa Collins Woodgrain embossing folder, then cut out freehand, a partial tree.  I punched out a circle using my 1-1/2 inch punch to use as a mask for the moon.  I then distressed around the mask using Scattered Straw, Ripe Persimmons, Iced Spruce and then rocking a lightly inked sponge for the haze/clouds using Black Soot.

‘Boris’ was colored using alcohol markers and topped off with both Wink of Stella and American Crafts Glitter Pens in dark grey and purple.  The sentiment was colored in using a Distress pen in Twisted Citron then pop up using foam dots.

I hope you liked today’s card.  You can go to http://www.sunsationalstamps.com to purchase this stamp/image along with many more.  Follow our blogs and like us on Facebook!

Howdy-do rainbow chasers!  Today I have a birthday card that was inspired by a rainbow challenge.

Watercolor Rainbow

Watercolor Rainbow

This was super simple and super fun!  I used watercolor paper, Distress Markers in Seedless Preserves, Faded Jeans, Mowed Lawn, Mustard Seed, and Ripe Persimmon.  I simply scribbled the brush side in a slight arch, overlapping ever so slightly….then squirted the daylights out of it with water.  🙂  Once it dried I drew double lines along the edges.  I used the Simon Says Stamp “Happy” die cut and ran it through my eBosser using Doodlebug Beetle Black cardstock.  The word Birthday is stamped from a set I received in a Studio Calico kit.  I mounted the watercolor paper on Doodlebug Orchid cardstock.

The inside I used a sentiment from Close To My Heart’s Wavy Bloom, and finished it off using candles from the Studio Calico kit mentioned above, and stamping them each in one of three of the colors on the front of the card, then added a Bella Blvd sticker.  I really made good use of my miscellaneous stash this week!

Thanks for stopping by on your way to the end of the rainbow!  Please be sure to click on the left to follow our blog and Like us on Facebook, so you don’t miss a thing!
