Good Evening….channeling Alfred Hitchcock.

I started making Halloween cards already, as I have many I have to make for some of my best customers!  As soon as I saw the stamp set Batty for You I knew what I wanted to do with it.  I just love this adorable little bat (I named him Boris).

I ran some brown card stock through my eBosser using the Teresa Collins Woodgrain embossing folder, then cut out freehand, a partial tree.  I punched out a circle using my 1-1/2 inch punch to use as a mask for the moon.  I then distressed around the mask using Scattered Straw, Ripe Persimmons, Iced Spruce and then rocking a lightly inked sponge for the haze/clouds using Black Soot.

‘Boris’ was colored using alcohol markers and topped off with both Wink of Stella and American Crafts Glitter Pens in dark grey and purple.  The sentiment was colored in using a Distress pen in Twisted Citron then pop up using foam dots.

I hope you liked today’s card.  You can go to http://www.sunsationalstamps.com to purchase this stamp/image along with many more.  Follow our blogs and like us on Facebook!

Howdy-do rainbow chasers!  Today I have a birthday card that was inspired by a rainbow challenge.

Watercolor Rainbow

Watercolor Rainbow

This was super simple and super fun!  I used watercolor paper, Distress Markers in Seedless Preserves, Faded Jeans, Mowed Lawn, Mustard Seed, and Ripe Persimmon.  I simply scribbled the brush side in a slight arch, overlapping ever so slightly….then squirted the daylights out of it with water.  🙂  Once it dried I drew double lines along the edges.  I used the Simon Says Stamp “Happy” die cut and ran it through my eBosser using Doodlebug Beetle Black cardstock.  The word Birthday is stamped from a set I received in a Studio Calico kit.  I mounted the watercolor paper on Doodlebug Orchid cardstock.

Inside of the Rainbow card

The inside I used a sentiment from Close To My Heart’s Wavy Bloom, and finished it off using candles from the Studio Calico kit mentioned above, and stamping them each in one of three of the colors on the front of the card, then added a Bella Blvd sticker.  I really made good use of my miscellaneous stash this week!

Thanks for stopping by on your way to the end of the rainbow!  Please be sure to click on the left to follow our blog and Like us on Facebook, so you don’t miss a thing!

Greetings followers, today we are featuring some Easter cards. I made a couple of different styles this week with various techniques used.

The first set of cards were made using the Peel Stickers by Elizabeth Crafts Designs, glitter paper and ShinHan alcohol markers.  I just LOVE how these Faberge Eggs look like they have gem stones imbedded in them!  I purchased these many months ago and I could not wait for Easter so I could color these.

I embossed the background pieces with the large polka dot embossing folder and tied American Crafts Baker’s twine around the base.

The second set of cards are mini cards (finished size 2-1/2 x 3.  I custom-made the envelopes with my We R Memory Keepers Envelope Maker.  A perfect way to use up some of my 6×6 paper….of which I have pads and stacks and egg-cetra…hehe….

Newton's Nook Hoppy Easter Set… I photographed it with a Distress Marker to show how tiny the cards actually are.

I used Newton’s Nook Hoppy Easter stamp set and my Distress Markers.  I also was able to use my new Simon Says Stitched Borders Square thin dies to make the peek-a-boo window.

I hope everyone has a Hoppy weekend and no matter what holiday you celebrate, I hope you have a good one!

Artbooking, Close To My Heart, Cricut, CTMH, eBosser, Stamp of the Month

Valentine greetings friends, I am still cranking out Valentine cards, so with no further ado, here are a few more designs.

Hexagons cut using Cricut Artbooking cartridge.

Hexagons cut using Cricut Artbooking cartridge.

I love hexagons!  So, of course I own the Hexagon stamp sets…(yes, plural).  The stamp set I used is called Happy Hexagons, which is compatible with the CTMH Artbooking Cricut cartridge.

Hexagon Card

I used CTMH Pigment inks; Hollyhock, Cranberry and Cotton Candy as well as Memento Tuxedo Black ink for the arrows and sentiments.  I also added some pizzaz with the Pink Glitter Gems.  I love the glitter gems and have them in pretty much every color.  These sets are great because they contain several shades of the color family and they vary in size.

Lace Embossed

Two types of embossed hearts

On the card above I embellished this one with two different types of embossed hearts.  The solid red one was run through my eBosser with the Polka Dot embossing folder.  I stamped the heart with the cranberry pigment ink, added clear embossing powder and heat set it.  The sentiment came from the January Stamp of the Month ‘This Moment‘.  The top strip of paper is from the Heartstrings paper collection.

Last, but not least is the card I made using the new stamp set Amour which is available in the new Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog.  I love anything French, so I went “Ooh-la-la’ over this set.

I also used the Forever in My Heart stamp set for the inside sentiment.  I embossed the silhouette of the couple and the Je T’Adore sentiment.  The script background was stamped with slate dye ink on light grey card stock.  All the shapes where cut using the Artbooking cartridge.

Howdy do and hugs to you!  I don’t know about you, but I am in the Valentine spirit.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Valentine’s Day.  If you could see the gazillion stamps and patterned papers themed around hearts, kisses and love, you would know that I am a fan.  Today I will share a few of the many Valentines I have made recently.

CTMH Heartstrings and the "You've Got a Friend" stamp set

I just love the Heartstrings patterned paper pack that is in the Close To My Heart Seasonal Expressions I catalog.  This paper packet is only available until the end of March 2015.  I really like that they incorporated their Lagoon color to give this line a unique feel.   I made several different designs with this paper.

The next card up to bat was inspired by Joy with Obsessed With Scrapbooking, she is so helpful when it comes to letting us know what size to cut designs on the Cricut machine.  That can be a lot of trial and error…with me, more error than not.  HA!

I do not waste a thing…the little blue hearts are the cut outs from the “LOVE” frame…I decided you can never have too many hearts on Valentine’s Day, so I added the cut-out to the inside, by the top greeting.  I used Lagoon ink for the greetings inside.  I wanted to give the long heart panel some additional interest so I ran it through my eBosser using the CTMH Arrows embossing folder.

Stop back soon, we have a couple more posts coming up featuring our Valentines.  Until then, happy scrapping!  Please click on the left panel to follow our blog and like us on Facebook so you don’t miss a thing.  XOXO

Welcome Card for Nelly

Welcome Card for Nelly

Hi Loves!  The title of this weeks post is paying homage to The Beatles and their many words of wisdom.  This time of year brings to mind all of our loves…Significant others, family, and pets.  Recently a dear friend of mine told me all about an animal rescue she is involved with and how they were going down to a Kentucky shelter and bringing back a transport full of pups that were in desperate need of some TLC and hopefully find their forever homes.  There was one poor female pup that had not been spoken for and was scheduled to be euthanized at the Kentucky shelter before the end of the month.  She had such sad soulful eyes, as if she knew her fate.  Needless to say my friend could not just sit by without sponsoring this loving little gal, so she made sure Nelly got a spot on the transport.  My family has rescued pups before and I know they like to have an object of comfort or security so I headed off to my craft room to make a blanket for Nelly.  Oh and of course I made a card to welcome her home 🙂

First Stage of Blanket Assembly

First Stage of Blanket Assembly

I took a five foot length of fleece, I cut it in half lengthwise (it was 54″ wide, so each piece was 60″ x 27″.  Next you line the two pieces up with wrong ends facing in.  Then you cut a 4″ square out of each corner and cut 1″ wide slits, 4″ deep, all the way around the blanket.

Second Stage of Blanket Assembly

Then you tie each pair of slits together in a double knot.  Do not make the knots too tight or it will pucker the blanket.

The reverse side pattern is paying homage to Nelly's Kitty siblings in her new home.

Nelly is such a loving, well-behaved girl!

Happy Harvest to you! I don’t need to remind anyone that Thanksgiving is just around the corner, but there is still plenty of time to put together some cards for those special people in your life that you are grateful for.

I have been busy making many different designs because I have a very sweet collection of autumn stamps and stamp sets that include saying of gratitude.

Bits & Pieces for the makings of an assortment of Thanksgiving cards

The tree card was stamped with Close To My Heart – Always Grateful, as well as the inside of that card.  The sign on the wood grain embossed card was also stamped with a sentiment in this set.

CTMH Always Grateful stamp set used for this card.

I colored the tree and grass with a small sponge dauber and Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  I used Scattered Straw, Wild Honey & Peeled Paint.  I mounted the picture onto golden-yellow card stock.  I wrapped a K&Co. gold ribbon around a piece of patterned paper cut 1/8 inch smaller than the card base and assembled as shown above.  I stamped the inside with Cocoa Brown Memento ink using a sentiment from the stamp set.

Wood grain Embossed Card

Wood grain Embossed Card

This card was made using the Teresa Collins eBosser and Tim Holtz wood grain embossing folder.  I cut out leaves from various patterned paper using the Close To My Heart Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  This same leaf and acorn are in the CTMH stamp set Fall Harvest and I stamped the acorn and then colored it with my ShinHan alcohol markers.  I used that stamp set with the leaf and acorn cut outs for the next card seen below.

Life is Good and Fall Harvest Stamp Sets Used

Using my Cricut I cut out the leaves at 2 inches and stamped them with CTMH pigment inks (Topiary, Sunset & Cranberry).  I just love how vibrant the colors are.  I stamped the wreath and “Life is Good” with the CTMH Remarkable Wreath (retired) stamp set.  The wreath was stamped in 3 layers.  First I used Sunset pigment ink with the leaf half circle and of course stamped it twice to make a circle.  Then I used the Cocoa Brown Memento ink to stamp the wreath over the leaves.  Last, I stamped the berries in Cranberry pigment ink as the top layer.  The inside was stamped with the Curlicues Alpha set that came with the Close To My Heart Artfully Sent Cricut bundle.

I hope you enjoyed todays cards and techniques.  Thank you for stopping by and remember to click on the left panel to follow our blog so you don’t miss a thing.  Like us on Facebook and stop by our online shop for more inspiration!
