Happy Autumn greetings! Today’s card is for the Creative With Stamps September Challenge, which is PUMPKINS!

I used the Newton’s Nook Falling For You stamp set and Doodlebug’s Friendly Forest patterned paper.

First I stamped the sentiment on watercolor paper with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink and sprinkled it with clear embossing powder, then I heat set it.  I sponged on Fossilized Amber and Picked Raspberry, overlapping them slightly to get an orange color also.  I trimmed the panel and rounded corners on that as well as the patterned mat and card base.  I layered the patterned paper onto a kraft card base and the watercolor panel onto a kraft mat, attached them together.

I stamped multiple pumpkins from this set, colored them with alcohol markers and fussy cut them out. I added foam squares to pop the pumpkins up a bit.

Hello, I am back today with another card for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Spring/Summer Blog Hop.  I look forward to these each season, there are so many different styles to get inspired by…Fun, fun, fun!!!

A Latte Birthday Wishes Card

I started with a fun layered background.  First I put Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade onto my craft mat and spritzed it very generously with water.  I then took a piece of watercolor paper and smooshed it into the inks, drying and redipping the paper until I was happy with what I had.  Then I used two separate background stamps, one with a dominant design and the other with a less dominant design.  They were both stamped in Slate Gray ink from Close To My Heart.  I had taken a background layering class with my friend Andi at a previous Scrapbook Expo and I learned a lot in that class, I hope it shows.  🙂  The background stamps I used in my card are from JustRite.  They make huge background stamps, so you can orient it onto your card for either portrait or landscape designs.

Next up, I die cut the To-Go coffee cup using a die I won in a grab bag, but I think it is Hero Arts…do not hold me to it though, it was eons ago.  I stamped the cup sleeve with “a latte” and distressed the edges a bit with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink to make it stand out.  I sponged that onto the lid as well to give it a bit of depth and definition.

I stamped the Birthday Wishes sentiment in Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink and clear heat embossed it.  That stamp set is from a retired CTMH set.  I cut it out and popped it up with foam squares.  I wrapped American Crafts twine around the base and mounted that onto black cardstock, then onto the white card base.

Well, thank you for stopping by and if you have not been to the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop yet, please pop over there by clicking Here and get inspired and join in the fun!

Alcohol Marker, Distress Oxide Ink, Elizabeth Craft Designs, Faded Jeans, funky Line Panel Die, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers, Queen & Co, Scrap The Boys, Shimmer Sheetz, StazOn Ink, Tim Holtz, Twisted Citron, Your Next Stamp

Hello, today we needed a card for the month of May’s Scrap The Boys Card Makers Challenge and the challenge was a fab mood board, that I have displayed below so you can play along too!

I love the colors and the stripes in this, so that is what I ran with….and I suppose the dog was a good substitute for the horse.  🙂

I used the Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs set along with the “Crazy Accessories” set for the hat stamp and balloon dies.  I colored the images with alcohol markers and used the matching dies to cut them out.  I cut balloons from Shimmer Sheetz by Elizabeth Craft Designs in the emerald and sapphire jewel tones.  I stamped JOEY 4 onto the balloons with StazOn Ink and tied them to the bone with black thread.

The background was made by blending Faded Jeans, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Inks.  I spritzed it with water and dabbed dry to get the speckles.  I cut it out using my all time favorite background die, the Your Next Stamp Funky Line Panel Die and just adhered the whole kit-n-kaboodle to the medium blue card base.  I popped up the pup to give him a little more dimension.

The inside was stamped with the balloon from the previously mentioned set and I hand drew in the string that ties it to the sentiment from a Queen & Co gift box themed shaker card kit.

Please head on over to the Scrap The Boys blog to see all the inspiration and we would love to see your card entered in the challenge too!  Just click here to get there!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and are inspired to join in on the fun.  Please follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing.  Thanks for stopping by!

Close To My Heart, Distress Oxide Ink, Ranger, Sunsational Stamps

Welcome, today I wanted to make a card for my Sister-in-Law who is struggling with health issues.  I wanted it to be bright and cheery and spring-like…since Mother Nature is not cooperating in our neck of the woods, I had to make it happen with art.  🙂

I used my big floral stamp set from Sunsational Stamps, you can find their shop Here.  I stamped it several times in VersaMark clear ink onto Ranger Watercolor Paper and heat set it with fine white embossing powder.  I then used a rainbow assortment of my Distress Oxide Inks and added them here and there.  While it was still wet I splattered a couple of the colors on by flicking a paintbrush.  I wanted it to spread a bit and look all dreamy.

I stamped Big Hug from a retired Close To My Heart set and heat set it with fine white embossing powder as well.  I cut it into a tag shape, punched a small hole in the side and added twine I colored with alcohol markers to match the coral color of one of the inks and the card base.

I layered the panel onto black cardstock, added it to the card base, popped up the sentiment with foam squares, added iridescent sequins and called it done.

Be sure and check out this month’s challenge, you can find the post and link up by clicking Here. Good luck, we can’t wait to see what you all create!

Howdy Doo!  Today on the Scrap The Boys Card Challenge the challenge was to use Black & White and one more color, I chose turquoise, plus this month’s sketch, which can be found Here, so head on over and link up your creation!

I have always LOVED black and turquoise together, I had this vision of a vintage car, and since turquoise is a very vintage car color, I thought it would work well for this project.  The card is for my dad’s birthday and I know he will love the Route 66 reference as well as the cars.

STB Route 66 Card

The stamp set is Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Road Trip, I stamped the vintage car three times in Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink onto turquoise cardstock.  I die cut a large circle with the turquoise cardstock and embossed it with Tim Holtz Riveted Metal embossing folder.  I die cut a slightly smaller black circle and embossed that one with the Tim Holtz Diamond Plate embossing folder.  I layered them onto the black card base, added the strip with the cars on top.  I stamped the Route 66 road sign and the sentiment “The Journey Is The Destination” in black onto white cardstock, heat embossed them and cut them out.  I popped both of them up using foam tape.  For the final touch on the outside I added Nuvo white enamel drops to a few spots.

The inside of the card was stamped using a combo of Simon Says Stamp and Close To My Heart stamps, I used the Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink on white cardstock and layered it onto a mat of turquoise.

Please head on over to the Scrap The Boys blog to see all the inspiration and we would love to see your card entered in the challenge too!  Again, just click here to get there!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and are inspired to join in on the fun.  Please follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing.  Thanks for stopping by!

Rainbows, Beads & A Chick

Alcohol Marker, Distress Oxide Ink, Queen & Co, Sunsational Stamps, Your Next Stamp

Hello, I hope you are having a chirpy…I mean chipper day! Today I made another Easter card using one of the adorable images from Sunsational Stamps Hoppy Easter to Some-Bunny Special set and you can find it Here to make some-bunny a card yourself. 😉

I used this super cute chick and colored her in with alcohol markers, I have been practicing my flicking and I am happy with how the ‘feathers’ came out.

I made the shaker element first by making a rainbow panel using my Distress Oxide inks in a wavy wonky pattern. Then I die cut the panel using my Your Next Stamp Funky Lines Panel die…so we had all sorts of wavy, wonky colorful goodness going on.  I cut two pieces of fun foam also, to pop the panel up.  I wanted to use a rainbow of beads from Queen & Co as the shaker elements, but I wanted to segregate them to keep similar colors restricted to their area.  Because the colors were wavy, I decided to make three separate sections and put a mixture of two colors of beads together, for example; violet and blue, then blue and green, etc.  I assembled the shaker adhering it to a base of medium blue.  I felt the color choice and placement enhanced my chickie and made her pop.

Be sure and check out this months challenge, the theme is ‘Anything Goes” so enter whatever wonderful project you are working on, you can find the post and link up by clicking Here. Good luck, we can’t wait to see what you all create!

Monster-ous Hello

Alcohol Marker, Distress Oxide Ink, Sunsational Stamps, Wink of Stella, Worn Lipstick

Hello there, another Monster Love card!  I used this adorable digi set from Sunsational Stamps earlier in the month.  You can browse their shop by clicking Here.

Monster-ous Hello Card

This one I colored with alcohol markers and then used blender solution saturated onto a paper towel to press onto my little monster to give his fur some texture.  I used a heart stencil that I created using a die and then sponged on Distress Oxide ink in Worn Lipstick, then sprinkled it with clear embossing powder and heat set it.  It turned out looking like vinyl, which was a happy accident!

I hope you can see the details in the above picture.  The HELLO was cut out four times in the black cardstock so I could build a nice thick greeting, and then I added clear Wink of Stella to make it shimmer.  The final touch was to add three black sequins.  This was added to a black card base and the inside greeting is “Sending you Warm Fuzzies”

2 Crafty Critter Crazies, @newtonsnook, Alcohol Marker, Broken China, Distress Inks, Distress Oxide Ink, eBosser, Newton's Nook, Peacock Feathers

Chirp, chirp…Spring is right around the corner, at least I am hoping.  😉  Today I wanted to make a Birthday card for a dear friend and we are all at that age where we don’t like to acknowledge a number, if you get my drift…so I thought this adorable stamp set by Newton’s Nook, Newton’s Birthday Flutter was just the thing to create that card.

A Little Birdie Told Me Card

I started by using the smooshing technique for the front background.  I took some Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers and Broken China inks and rubbed a bit onto a piece of acetate then I spritzed it with water.  I then “Smooshed” it onto a piece of watercolor paper.  I did each color separately and dried it between layers.

Next I colored the birdie and balloons with alcohol markers and fussy cut them out so I could add them to the background.  I hand drew in the strings.  I stamped the sentiment in Ranger Archival Black Ink.

Now for the inside… I colored Newton and added some stripes with my alcohol markers, stamped the super funny punchline and sponged on some Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint…those are my two Go-To colors for grass and sky.  I then ran the front portion only through my eBosser with a confetti embossing folder to add a little interest to the white card base.  I mounted both the watercolor panel and the inside panel onto a mat and added them in place.

I entered my little Newton card in the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies Challenge #10.  Please follow this Link to enter your own creation or to take a peek at all the inspiration!

Welcome! Today I am making a card featuring Sunsational Stamps Arctic Cuties you can find it Here.  I love the little penguins and wanted to make a slider card and have my little male penguin sliding down to be next to his love. ❤

I printed the images onto white card stock, colored them in with alcohol markers and fussy cut them out. For the snow banks and background I die cut the Little Town border twice, one on white card stock and one that I had sponged with Distress Oxide ink in Wilted Violet, then I trimmed the houses off the white one so I could use the lower portion as the snow-covered hill they reside on.  I cut another hill with a second landscape die  from Lawn Fawn.  I die cut the slider piece in the bottom snow bank piece using Elizabeth Craft Designs Sliders and Spinners die set.  I attached the boy penguin using two pennies and foam dots to assemble the slider mechanism.  This panel was popped up on the top snow hill using a double layer of foam tape.

I used a light blue Bazzill textured card stock for the sky panel.  I added snow using my Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White.

Alcohol Marker, Authentique, Distress Oxide Ink, Fossilized Amber, Nuvo Pearl Drops, Sunsational Stamps, Tim Holtz

Salutations, today I needed another Thanksgiving card and I wanted one that was centered on people gathering for a feast, so I thought of the Friends Feast Together set from Sunsational Stamps.  It features Native Americans and Pilgrims, all holding a Thanksgiving dish.  Think of it as a pot luck at Plymouth Rock 😉

Friends Feast Together

I used my distressed sun ray stamp from Tim Holtz that I have had for…ever.  I stamped it with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink onto a piece of sky blue cardstock.  That was mounted onto patterned paper from my stash along with a strip of flip side of that patterned paper to form the “land” that anchored my people.

I printed out three of the images, colored them with my alcohol markers and cut them out.  I popped the people up with foam tape to give it dimension.  I added the words “Grateful, Memories & Together” from an Authentique sticker sheet and finished it off with some Nuvo Buttercup Yellow dots.  The inside was simply stamped with “Giving Thanks”
