Autumn greetings to you!  Today I made a card for a thoughtful neighbor and dear friend.  She not only treated me to a lovely afternoon coffee at our local coffee shop but she also treated my family to her pumpkin bread, which is TO DIE FOR!  I thought it would be the perfect card to link up to the super fun Coffee Lover’s Bloghop for fall.  #fall2017clh

As you can see I used Newton’s Nook stamps from two separate sets and stamped them with Ranger Archival Black ink onto water color paper.  I used my Distress Markers to watercolor the images.  I added a few Nuvo Pearl drops and mounted the watercolor panel onto two layers of Bazzill cardstock in two shades of brown, added some Maya Road self adhesive lace ribbon.  I added a mat of Your Next Stamp Crazy For Coffee paper to a Bazzill card base, then I popped the watercolor layers up onto the card with foam tape and called it done!

I hope you enjoyed the card and please follow our blog by clicking on the ‘Follow Me’ button, Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing!

Holiday Greetings!  As soon as I saw ‘Christmas Be Filled With Joy‘ set by Sunsational Stamps, I knew I HAD to have it!  With all the different elements, the creative options are endless.

Here is my card for this week, and I only used 4 of the 13 images.  That is a tree-mendous bang for your holiday buck!

I printed these images large enough to make a 5×7 card.  I colored the images with a mix of Distress and alcohol markers.  I die cut out the word JOY four times and layered them to give it a little more pop.  I highlighted areas of the ornament with Wink of Stella and mounted it all on a Karen Foster Designs patterned paper from my stash.  I am displaying the full set of these images to show you how many different elements there are in this set.  The snow flakes are next on my list!

Head on over to Sunsational Stamps to purchase this and many more images.

Close To My Heart, CTMH, Distress Inks, Distress Markers, eBosser, Memento Inks, Splatters Stencil, Tea Dye, Tim Holtz

Gobble, Gobble!  It is that time again when we reflect on our blessings and focus on what we have.  Many also are generous with their blessings and are able to share with others.  Today’s cards are thank you cards to a couple of people who went the extra mile for my family, so it was a perfect time to send them a little Thank You card for their thoughtfulness.

The first card was for a friend who is a retired tradesman, so I used a wood grain embossing folder and tape measure patterned paper, all tied together with CTMH Fern twine.  Then for an added touch, I stenciled a paint splotch to highlight the sentiment using Tim Holtz Splatters stencil 🙂  The sentiments were stamped using Memento Cocoa Brown ink and the CTMH Finding the Words stamp set.

The next card was coffee themed, and carrying that over to the inside as well.  I just LOVE the Tim Holtz stencils.  This one has the coffee cup rings (LOVE IT!)

The Tim Holtz Sizzix On The Go Texture Fades embossing folder is one of my faves.  After running my kraft card stock through the eBosser I then sponged some Tea Dye Distress ink over the top, just to capture the texture.  I die cute Thanks from my Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts die, I actually did this four times so I could layer it to give it depth.  I mounted it on a banner and popped the banner up over some CTMH Fern Twine.

On the inside I stenciled the coffee cup rings and splashes using my Tim Holtz Splatters stencil.  Oops, I almost forgot…First, I stamped the To-Go coffee cup using my CTMH Treats of Friendship, and I masked it when I stenciled the coffee stains.  I colored the stamp in with Distress Markers.

I would like to wish everyone a very happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday.  Please click on the Follow Me button and Like us on Facebook so you don’t miss a thing.

CTMH, Distress Markers, Foiling, Jennifer McGuire, Sunsational Stamps, YouTube

Good day!  Do you love autumn as much as I do?  Ah, Autumn is the sentiment I chose from my CTMH collection.  This fabulous image named Fall Tree is from Sunsational Stamps.

I tried a new technique that I thought would add just the right somethin-somethin, and that was Foiling.  I have heard mixed reviews on the MINK foiling machine, so I could not justify buying one until all the bugs are worked out of them…so how did I do it you ask????  I used a laminator.  I happen to follow a terrifically talented artist Jennifer McGuire and she has a YouTube showing how to use a basic laminator for the heat and pressure needed to transfer the foil to the image, and low and behold it worked!  By the way, I borrowed the laminator from my fabulous daughter, love you sweetie!

The trick to getting the foil to stick to the pattern on the paper is to print the design out on a laser jet printer or use a copy machine, the foil needs toner to adhere to the paper.   I printed the Fall Tree image and proceeded to shade in a few of the leaves with a black marker, then I copied it (for the toner).  I heated up the laminator, once the indicator light lit up to let me know it was hot enough, I placed the foil shiny side up onto my design and put it into a folded piece of copy paper, this substituted as a carrier sheet, then I just fed it into the laminator.  I used Spiced marmalade, Peeled Paint, Fossilized Amber & Barn Door Distress markers to color the leaves and Copic E33 & E37 for the tree.  I just love how it turned out!

I plan to use this in a scrapbook layout with some pictures we took at the arboretum last year.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post and perhaps it inspired you to try the foiling technique on your next project.  Please be sure to follow our blogs by clicking on the button on the left for Paper Canvas Creations and clicking on this link http://sunsationalstamps.blogspot.com to get to Sunsational Stamps blog.  Like us on Facebook too, so you don’t miss a thing.  Happy Scrapping!

Close To My Heart, Distress Markers, Doodlebug Designs, eBosser, Faded Jeans, Mowed Lawn, Mustard Seed, Ripe Persimmon, Seedless Preserves

Howdy-do rainbow chasers!  Today I have a birthday card that was inspired by a rainbow challenge.

Watercolor Rainbow

Watercolor Rainbow

This was super simple and super fun!  I used watercolor paper, Distress Markers in Seedless Preserves, Faded Jeans, Mowed Lawn, Mustard Seed, and Ripe Persimmon.  I simply scribbled the brush side in a slight arch, overlapping ever so slightly….then squirted the daylights out of it with water.  🙂  Once it dried I drew double lines along the edges.  I used the Simon Says Stamp “Happy” die cut and ran it through my eBosser using Doodlebug Beetle Black cardstock.  The word Birthday is stamped from a set I received in a Studio Calico kit.  I mounted the watercolor paper on Doodlebug Orchid cardstock.

The inside I used a sentiment from Close To My Heart’s Wavy Bloom, and finished it off using candles from the Studio Calico kit mentioned above, and stamping them each in one of three of the colors on the front of the card, then added a Bella Blvd sticker.  I really made good use of my miscellaneous stash this week!

Thanks for stopping by on your way to the end of the rainbow!  Please be sure to click on the left to follow our blog and Like us on Facebook, so you don’t miss a thing!
