Good Morning!  Today is a great day to grab a cup of joe and take a look at all the coffee inspiration my fellow crafty bloggers have to offer.  We are honored to be a part of the Sunsational Stamps Super Sponsoring of www.coffeelovingcardmakers.com Coffee Lovers Blog hop!

I am so excited to be part of this fabulous blog hop!  I am a huge fan of coffee and coffee related things…cups, pots, donuts, the whole shebang.  I went with a puny card today, another fave of mine.  I wanted to make a card that encouraged individuality.

I used the iconic carry out coffee cup from Sunsational Stamps Love You Latte and printed it several times.  I colored them with Copic markers, making one of them different as you can see!  I printed a second set so I could pop up the lids to give it added dimension.  The cup sleeves were cut from some decorative corrugated paper I had on hand.

I made the sentiment using a retired Close To My Heart alpha set called Hopscotch.  I drew in the giant coffee bean to make the ‘O’ in Espresso.  I used one of the dies in Elizabeth Craft Designs Bead Strings 2 to create the page division.  I cut it from a piece of cardstock that I had blended Distress inks in Twisted Citron, Lucky Clover and Wilted Violet.  I topped off each “bead” center with ECD Peel-off Gems, because…well, you gotta have some bling!

Thank you for hopping by today, and I hope you enjoy the remaining stops on our hop.  You can link back to Sunsational Stamps Blog or Coffee Loving Card Makers Blog

Sunsational stamps is offering a $25 dollars Digital Image Certificates and two flash prizes of $15 & $10 Digital Image Gift Certificates, so please do participate in the blog hop to be eligible to win some exciting prizes.

Alcohol Marker, Copic, Distress Inks, Elizabeth Craft Designs, Lawn Fawn, Mermaid Lagoon, Speech Bubble Edgy Options, Sunsational Stamps, TCW

Hello one and all, today we are thinking summertime.  I am using the Mouse and Flower  stamp set from Sunsational Stamps that you can find Here.  The little mouse seeking shade under the daisy makes me smile. I am a huge fan of daisies and believe it or not, mice…the cartoon version that is.  🙂

Hello Mouse & Flower Card

First off, I used an oval template, taped down to the lower right corner of my cardstock, and then taped a chicken wire stencil ( from TCW) over that. I sponged on Distress Ink in Mermaid Lagoon.  Once I removed the stencil, I again sponged more Mermaid Lagoon over the entire oval opening.  This process darkens the already inked pattern and lightly colors the actual chicken wire outline. Then I colored this cute little fella with my Copic markers and fussy cut the mouse and daisy.  I used foam squares to pop it up on the stenciled area.
For the ‘Hello’ (by Lawn Fawn), I die cut both a piece of orange cardstock as well as the yellow speech bubble which is a die set from the Speech Bubble Edgy Options set by Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I did this so I could inlay the word into the bubble and eliminate bulk for easy mailing.
This panel was adhered to a top folding white notecard and it was complete.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  Please like us on Facebook follow us on Instagram and follow our blog so you don’t miss a thing!

Alcohol Marker, Distress Inks, Doodlebug Designs, Faded Jeans, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers, Sunsational Stamps

“I want to be under the sea, in an Octopus’ garden in the shade.” This card is inspired by a Beatles song that my husband sings around the house ALL THE TIME.  🙂

Octopus’ Garden Birthday Fishes

I used the Sunsational Stamps super adorable digi set Ocean Critters 1 and 2 to make this shaker card.  I colored these cute little ocean critters with my alcohol markers.  For the background and frame I sponged on Mermaid Lagoon, Faded Jeans and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink onto watercolor paper and then spritzing it with water.  I let the water sit on it for about a minute before I pressed a paper towel onto the paper to dry.  I like the bubbly spots this technique leaves.

Inside of Birthday Fishes Card

I used a rectangle die to cut the center out, I adhered a piece of acetate to the backside of the frame and added foam tape around backside of frame.  I adhered the solid rectangle to the card base and added the shaker elements.  I colored very small versions of the starfish, shells and turtles to add as additional shaker elements along with the beads and sequins.  I placed the acetate layer on top, added the ocean critter on top of the acetate and the ‘Fishing You’ are from my Doodlebug Teeny Type stickers.

I stamped the inside with a Raisin Boat sentiment and added one more turtle, because he is my VERY favorite!

Alcohol Marker, Distress Inks, Elizabeth Craft Designs, Peeled Paint, Sunsational Stamps, Tim Holtz, Tumbled Glass

Howdy-doo!  We have Easter right around the corner, but in my family that means we have several birthdays too!  Today I had to take a break from my Easter projects and concentrate on Birthday cards.  I used my City Critters digi set from Sunsational Stamps and used the adorable pup.  I printed it both the way it is intended and I also flipped the image so I would have two pups facing one another.  When I colored them with my alcohol markers, I used my pup and my “grand” pup as the inspiration.  😉

City Critters Birthday Card

I used my Elizabeth Craft Design‘s balloon and party hat stamps and dies from her Happy Bird-day set to turn these two little cuties into party animals.

I created the background using a stencil I created (that I use ALL the time) one end is a hilly edge and the other is a cloudy edge.  I used Peeled Paint Distress ink and Tumbled Glass Distress ink (they are my landscape Go-To colors) and sponged them over the stencil. It is quick and easy and adds a subtle background.

The Happy Birthday sentiment was die cut using Tim Holtz Thinlits Celebration Words dies.  First I backed a piece of cardstock with a sheet of double-faced tape, then I cut the words out exactly how I wanted them on the card.  In the picture below you will see how I place the letters to keep them perfectly spaced and even.

How to line up letters perfectly.

I held the negative space down with a couple of pieces of Washi tape on the card exactly where I wanted the words.  Then I proceeded to, one by one, remove the backing to expose the sticky side then placed the letter back in its spot.  Press the letters down and remove the negative space.  Voila!  Perfectly placed letters.

Close up of Puppy Card.

I added the party hats and balloons to my pups.  I hand drew the balloon string and bows.  I matted the front of the card onto more of the teal cardstock that I cut the letters out with.  Finally I attached this to the card base and called it done!

Please click Here to get to the City Critters Digi set, and while you are there look around the store, there are so many adorable sets to choose from.  Sunsational carries both digi and clear stamps for all your crafting needs.

I hope you have been inspired by today’s card.  Please stop by often and see the fabulous creations from all the Design Team Members!

Close To My Heart, Copic, Cricut, CTMH, Distress Inks, Henry the Mouse, Honey Bee Stamps, Stampendous, Whiff of Joy

Howdy procrastinators!  I have one final Valentine card post for this year.

Henry the Mouse by Whiff of Joy Valentine Card

Henry the Mouse by Whiff of Joy Valentine Card

This card has a lot of steps but it goes together pretty quickly.  First I stamped Henry and masked him off so I could make the background.  Second I made a heart stencil by cutting a heart from one of my Cricut cartridges and putting the open part of the heart over Henry and tipped it a bit for interest.  Then I stamped A-Muse scripty background stamp in Close To My Heart’s Whisper ink.  Leaving both the mouse mask and the heart stencil in place, I inked the heart with Tattered Rose Distress Ink.

Mask and Stencil Step

Mask and Stencil Step

Once I removed the mask and stencil, Henry was ready to color.  I used various grey Copic markers, pink for the ears, pads on his little feet and nose, and of course red for the heart he is hugging.  🙂

I stamped LOVE from that Stampendous stamp set I used earlier this week, stamped the inside of this card with Honey Bee stamps Beautiful Life set, added the colored panel to some Echo Park paper and voila!

I hope you have a very nice V-Day and I would love it if you would follow my blog by clicking on the button and Like us on Facebook so you don’t miss a thing!

Greetings fellow card makers!  I am not telling you anything new when I say Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so, I have a few projects that I will be posting for the next couple of days to help you with some last-minute card ideas.

Valentine Cards using Honey Bee Stamp Set Beautiful Life

Inside of Valentine Card

Inside of Valentine Card

Honey Bee Stamps are so stinkin’ adorable and the set I used here is Beautiful Life.  This card was inspired by a card that one of the DT member’s on Honey Bee Stamps Blog created.   Beautiful Life stamp set has dozens of images, words and sayings and I found the cutest little checkmark in this set, although I did not use it on these cards, I will soon.  🙂

I started out by using a circle stencil and applying Tattered Rose Distress Ink, then I removed the stencil and lightly applied Tattered Rose Distress Ink again, this time over the entire panel.  I actually made a large panel that I cut into three parts so I could make several cards at one time.  I then used Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and stamped various hearts from the set inside some of the circles.  I stamped some of them full strength and some of them I stamped off to give a variety of shades.

I die cut tags from some of the heart pattern paper as well as gold cardstock.  I stamped LOVE from an old Stampendous stamp set onto the heart pattern tags and inked the edges of these tags.

I then cut strips of chevron black on black patterned paper from Close To My Heart and adhered both the heart panel and the chevron strip to a card base.  I covered the seam with CTMH Gold Foil Tape.

Finally, I tied pink and white Doodlebug baker’s twine to the tags and added them to the front of the cards.  I stamped the inside of each card with the You Are Loved sentiment from the Honey Bee set, stamped some hearts around the sentiment and called it done!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card, and please click on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook so you don’t miss a thing!

Close To My Heart, CTMH, Distress Inks, Doodlebug Designs, Newton's Nook, Peeled Paint, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Vellum, Walnut Stain, Watercolor, YouTube

Hello everyone, today I am wrapping up my Thanksgiving cards.  I cannot believe it is this week already.  It has been unseasonably warm here in my neck of the woods, so that means the holidays are sneaking up on me more than usual!

My card today uses the Falling For You stamp set by Newton’s Nook.  The moment I saw this set, I had to have it.  I did mask off the very beginning of the sentiment so I could add my ‘Always Grateful For’ which I pulled from CTMH Always Grateful stamp set.

I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink on watercolor paper and used white embossing powder.  Then I smooshed Distress Inks in Peeled Paint, Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade and Walnut Stain, spritzed it liberally with water and smooshed away!  This is a messy but fun technique and one I use quite often…I thought I invented it, then I saw people use it on YouTube, so I guess it wasn’t such a unique idea.  HA!  Finally I spattered some more Spiced Marmalade.

The card base is Doodlebug Designs Flea Market line, I saw all the adorable critters and one of the papers has a sunflower pattern, so it was a must have.

The ‘Always Grateful For’ part of the card was gold embossed onto a strip of plain vellum, and wrapped along the top of the main sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  I would like to wish you and your loved ones a blessed Thanksgiving.

Good Day Love!  Valentine’s Day is just a few short days away, so I am wrapping up my Valentine cards.  Speaking of ‘wrapping it up’ today’s card includes a yummy little treat held with a hug.  🙂  I was inspired by Laura from Doublestick Heaven Blog, she is incredible.

I used the Woodland Friends images that you can find here at Sunsational Stamps.  I fussy cut out the log and the raccoon.  I cut two raccoons and colored the back of the second one then attached them together, that way when I folded the hands inward (to  hold the Hershey Nugget) it would be finished on both sides.  I popped up the leaves on the log and the feet of the raccoon.  I attached the candy with Scor Tape and folded in his paws.  The background was sponged with Distress Inks in the following colors; Faded Jeans, Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Evergreen Bough and Peeled Paint.  I began with the Peacock Feathers which is the center color and built and blended outward.

The sentiments were from the Close To My Heart January Stamp Of The Month set Beautiful Bouquet.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card, and as always we would love it if you would follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Us” button and Like us on Facebook so you don’t miss a thing!

Happy Wednesday to you!  Today is the second in a set of four Old-style Valentines.  I used these adorable images ‘Sherry and Dog with Bone’ from Sunsational Stamps.  I colored them with ShinHan alcohol markers and distressed the background with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.  I added a few die cut hearts that I cut with my fabulous eBosser.  I cut the background doily with We R Memory Keepers Mini 8 Punch Rose pattern.  I cut it on Beetle Black cardstock from Doodlebug.  I mounted all that on the card base, and stamped the inside sentiment with CTMH Brushstrokes and January’s Stamp Of The Month Beloved Bouquet.

Owl Tell You A Secret

Howdy-Hoot!  Well today’s project began as one idea and ended slightly different.  You would never know if I didn’t tell you…but I am going to let you in on a little secret…I made an oopsie.  There is a mantra that most paper crafters live by and that is “There are NO mistakes in paper crafting, just opportunities to embellish” or in this case alter the image.  😉

Warm Winter Wishes Card

Warm Winter Wishes Card

This is the end result, and I am happy with it, however, it was supposed to have two adorable owls on it.  But low and behold if I didn’t stamp the sentiment too high.  UGH!  I have ten thousand more things to make between now and yesterday so the idea of making another background was stressing me out, sooo….I cut one of the owls off and there you have it, one owl wishing you warm winter wishes instead of two.

Original Image with both owls

Original Image with both owls

I colored the image with colored pencils and blended it with Gamsol.  The image Owl Always Need You is from the Sunsational Stamps Shop.  Aren’t they adorable?!

Background for card

Background for card

The background was made by sponging layer upon layer of Distress inks.  I layered Tumbled Glass all over the cardstock then I added Peacock Feathers to part of it.  I flicked some water on top and dabbed dry with a paper towel, to create the snowy bokeh look.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment which is from Close To My Heart’s Frosted set.  And as you see from the picture, the sentiment was a bit too high to accommodate both the owls…sigh…
