Happy New Year to one and all!  This is my first post as Design Team Member for Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies.  This card is also the one I am using for my “Shake it Up” shaker card class at one of our little cardmaking groups in the town I live in.

The Shaker inserts, stamps and dies are all My Favorite Things.  I LOVE these shakers and sentiments!

Cheers to You Shaker Card

The background was created using Newton’s Nook Bubbly stencil and sponging on Squeezed Lemonade and Twisted Citron Distress Inks.  The glasses were shaded lightly with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.  This set is so versatile, you can use the dies just simply for the single dimensional aspect or the shaker aspect.  I used for both on this card.  The Shaker inserts are simple to use, just be sure to use strong adhesive.  The Shaker elements are from Kat Scrappiness, I absolutely LOVE her online shop and her custom mixes of shaker elements.  The tiny ice cube shaker elements are from My Favorite Things.

Here is a second birthday card I created with these die and stamp sets.  This second card I used Studio Katia Birthday Balloons Duo stencils with Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Inks.

I hope you enjoyed the cards today.  Please head on over to Happy Little Stampers by clicking Here  Please follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing. Thanks for visiting!

I am buzzing by to show you my card for the Scrap The Boys Card Challenge.  The August challenge is Geometric, obviously there are so many great options and my head was spinning with various ideas, but the one I went with was Hexagons… specifically, honeycombs.  I wanted to use some of my Honey Bee Stamps products and make a birthday (BEE-day) card for my honey.  😉

I started out with a honeycomb stencil that I received free as a promotion from Honey Bee Stamps with an order I placed a while ago.  I colored texture paste with Wild Honey Distress Ink and spread it over the stencil.  Be sure to clean your stencils right away, or the paste will become difficult if not impossible to remove if it dries.  I let it sit overnight to dry, then I cut out a portion of the honeycomb and popped it up onto a background panel that I embossed using my hexagon embossing folder.

I stamped some bees with the Honey Bee Stamps Busy Bees stamp set and used the coordinating dies, and I colored them in with alcohol markers.  I stamped the sentiment using the Bee-You-Tiful stamp set.  I love the this set, as you can piece together your own sentiments.  I used white embossing powder to make the sentiment POP!  The final touch was to add some dots of Liquid Glass (Close To My Heart’s version of Glossy Accents) here and there.

Please head on over to the Scrap The Boys blog to see all the inspiration and we would love to see your card entered in the challenge too!  Just click here to get there!  I hope you enjoyed today’s card and are inspired to join in on the fun.  Please follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing.  Thanks for stopping by!

A Latte Birthday Wishes

Hello, I am back today with another card for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Spring/Summer Blog Hop.  I look forward to these each season, there are so many different styles to get inspired by…Fun, fun, fun!!!

A Latte Birthday Wishes Card

I started with a fun layered background.  First I put Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade onto my craft mat and spritzed it very generously with water.  I then took a piece of watercolor paper and smooshed it into the inks, drying and redipping the paper until I was happy with what I had.  Then I used two separate background stamps, one with a dominant design and the other with a less dominant design.  They were both stamped in Slate Gray ink from Close To My Heart.  I had taken a background layering class with my friend Andi at a previous Scrapbook Expo and I learned a lot in that class, I hope it shows.  🙂  The background stamps I used in my card are from JustRite.  They make huge background stamps, so you can orient it onto your card for either portrait or landscape designs.

Next up, I die cut the To-Go coffee cup using a die I won in a grab bag, but I think it is Hero Arts…do not hold me to it though, it was eons ago.  I stamped the cup sleeve with “a latte” and distressed the edges a bit with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink to make it stand out.  I sponged that onto the lid as well to give it a bit of depth and definition.

I stamped the Birthday Wishes sentiment in Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink and clear heat embossed it.  That stamp set is from a retired CTMH set.  I cut it out and popped it up with foam squares.  I wrapped American Crafts twine around the base and mounted that onto black cardstock, then onto the white card base.

Well, thank you for stopping by and if you have not been to the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop yet, please pop over there by clicking Here and get inspired and join in the fun!

Salutations!  Today is my first post as a member of the fabulous Creative With Stamps Design Team and I am super excited.  It is also Creative With Stamps 2nd Anniversary!  The sponsor of this month’s challenge is Pattie’s Creations Digital Stamps, and I used her Black-eyed Susan digi.  I decided to make them into Purple Cornflowers, but that just shows how versatile these beautiful images are.

Pattie’s Creations Digital Stamps Black-eyed Susan

I colored this beautiful digital stamp with my alcohol markers and then sponged on Tea Dye Distress Ink as well as Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  I cut the card base using a large postage stamp die, but I first folded my cardstock in half, positioning the top part of the die above the top of the fold, this creates the postage stamp shaped card base.

I used the two larges frame dies by Elizabeth Craft Designs (they are retired and I don’t remember the name) to cut out a dark brown cardstock frame to make the image pop.  I added a bow using Doodlebug Baker’s Twine and popped the image up onto the card base using foam tape.  I added my sentiment and called it done.  🙂

Please stop by the challenge and link up one of your creations following the theme of CAS with a sentiment, by clicking Here.  We can’t wait to see the projects you come up with!

Howdy fellow crafters, today I wanted to make a scrapbook layout, I have not had time lately to scrap and I missed it terribly.  I decided I wanted to join in on a challenge, and what better challenge than Scrap The Boys!  I recently announced that I am a new member on their card maker’s team, so I was excited to enter their scrapbook layout challenge.  The link for the challenge is Here and you can enter your own layout or just check out all the other entries and the Design Teams inspiration.

The theme is Great Outdoors, so I had a picture of my hubby being the captain of our pontoon at a lake in Arkansas. 😉

Boating Adventures Layout

The inspiration for the layout was from Get It Scrapped, Single and Pretty lessons by Debbie Hodge.  I love her lessons, they are so well explained and demonstrated.  I have been a member of Get It Scrapped for a long time and I learn something new every time I watch her.  🙂

I used Echo Park and Carta Bella papers, alphas and embellishments.  The View Finder stencil is from Balzer Designs and I sponged it with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink onto a base of Bazzill paper in Lagoon.  The cute little anchor tag is a die I received free with an order and I believe it was from Sunny Studios, but I am not positive.  I looked at their online shop and did not see it there any longer.

I hope you enjoyed today’s layout, thank you for stopping by, please follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram   so you don’t miss a thing!

2 Crafty Critter Crazies, @newtonsnook, Alcohol Marker, Broken China, Distress Inks, Distress Oxide Ink, eBosser, Newton's Nook, Peacock Feathers

Chirp, chirp…Spring is right around the corner, at least I am hoping.  😉  Today I wanted to make a Birthday card for a dear friend and we are all at that age where we don’t like to acknowledge a number, if you get my drift…so I thought this adorable stamp set by Newton’s Nook, Newton’s Birthday Flutter was just the thing to create that card.

A Little Birdie Told Me Card

I started by using the smooshing technique for the front background.  I took some Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers and Broken China inks and rubbed a bit onto a piece of acetate then I spritzed it with water.  I then “Smooshed” it onto a piece of watercolor paper.  I did each color separately and dried it between layers.

Next I colored the birdie and balloons with alcohol markers and fussy cut them out so I could add them to the background.  I hand drew in the strings.  I stamped the sentiment in Ranger Archival Black Ink.

Now for the inside… I colored Newton and added some stripes with my alcohol markers, stamped the super funny punchline and sponged on some Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint…those are my two Go-To colors for grass and sky.  I then ran the front portion only through my eBosser with a confetti embossing folder to add a little interest to the white card base.  I mounted both the watercolor panel and the inside panel onto a mat and added them in place.

I entered my little Newton card in the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies Challenge #10.  Please follow this Link to enter your own creation or to take a peek at all the inspiration!

@newtonsnook, Alcohol Marker, Beetle Black, Black Soot, Distress Inks, Distress Oxide Ink, Doodlebug Designs, K&Co., Newton's Nook, Sizzix, Stampin' UP!, Sunsational Stamps, Twisted Citron

Howl are you doing?  Hehe…  Well, Halloween is only a couple of days away, so I am wrapping up October with two more cards.  The first one was inspired by Amy Rysavy of Prairie Paper & Ink fame.  She wrapped a piece of cardstock with Microspore tape for her puppy mummy card, so I could not resist to adapt my version.

I used Newton’s Nook Boo Crew stamp set.  I colored Winston with alcohol markers, fussy cut him out and mounted him on my microspore tape wrapped cardstock, this in turn was matted on Doodlebug Beetle Black cardstock.  The base is made with Doodlebug October 31st patterned paper line (the line is so stinkin’ cute!)

Mummy Bear Card

The inside sentiment was stamped with a Sunsational Stamps Happy Halloween set.  The card base was made with Doodlebug Grass Green cardstock.  I believe the ribbon was from K&Co…but I have had it for so long, I can’t be sure.

The second card was made using Stampin’ Up’s Frightening Feline stamp.  I stamped it with Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink onto black cardstock and clear heat embossed it.  I was going for a bit of a fluorescent look.

Scaredy Cat Card

I created a shaker and framed the shaker window with Doodlebug patterned paper from the October 31st line.  I used many embellishments from K&Co.  The bottom of the card was created with a piece of gray cardstock that I embossed with a brick Sizzix folder and I distressed it randomly with Black Soot Distress Ink.

I hope today’s cards inspired you to scare up some of your scrappy stash and make something bootiful.  Ok, I am done…I could not resist.  Please follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing!

Alcohol Marker, Distress Inks, Faded Jeans, Sunsational Stamps, Tea Stain

Howdy!  We are well into summer and a lot of folks are taking that last little trip before school starts again.  Now I am not a camping person, although I love camping themed things, but my Brother-in-law and his family are avid campers, so I thought this card would be so much fun to send to them!

Happy Camper

I used the adorable Camp More Worry Less digi set from Sunsational and colored in the images with my alcohol markers and then I fussy cut out all the elements and set aside.

The background was made by sponging on Faded Jeans and Tea Stain Distress Inks that I then spattered with water and dabbed dry to give it a starry sky effect

Close-up of Happy Camper

I adhered the cut out elements to the card, popping up the campfire and camper.  I hope you enjoyed today’s project.  To shop, please follow this link to Sunsational Stamps. Alcohol Marker, Basic Grey, Copic, Crescent Tag Topper, Distress Inks, Fishtail Banner, Sunny Studios, Sunsational Stamps

Hello there!  I am continuing on my Christmas in July mode, I knew I was going to need some extra tags for the holidays and I wanted to use my new image from Sunsational Stamps, Snowman Soup Set which you can find Here.  This set is so cute, besides having several cups of wintry delight to choose from, there are many sentiments and adorable faces you can add to your snowmen.

Snowman Soup Tags

To make the tag I used Sunny Studios Crescent Tag Topper Dies and their Fishtail Banner Dies.  I absolutely love these in combination with one another.  The tag top has several sizes to choose from and you can make them as long or as short at you like.  The toppers also come with adorable little reinforcer dies in various shapes, I used the circle and star for my tags.  The Fishtail Banner dies come in four styles, and I used them all!  They have deep tick marks in each die to make lining them up straight on your project a breeze!

The paper I chose was Basic Grey, from my stash, obviously an oldie since they have been out of business for a while now.  I love finding stuff in my stash I completely forgot about…it is like Christmas morning when that happens.  Pun intended.  😉

Snowman Soup Tags

I colored my snowman with Copics and I shaded the cups with Distress Inks.  The white base was scored 1/8 inch from edge on all sides to give it subtle interest.  I popped up the mugs on the front of the tag, added bakers twine (from the dollar bin at Target) and voila!

Remember there is still time to enter our July Challenge, just upload any Christmas themed project you like and you will be entered in a drawing for a fabulous prize from Sunsational Stamps.  Click Here to get to the challenge.  Good luck!

I hope you enjoyed our tags today and please follow our blog by clicking on “Follow Me”, Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing!
