Close To My Heart, CTMH, Seaside Greetings, Stampin' UP!, Treasured Friendship

Hi there, we are still hanging onto summer here in my neck of the woods, and  I wanted to celebrate with a card for my mom’s birthday that gives glimpses into a lazy day by the seaside.

I used Close To My Heart Seaside Greetings and Treasured Friendship stamp sets along with CTMH Canary and Honey ink.  I used a new technique called Retifore that I learned from a very talented fellow stamper that is on a FB group with me, she totally inspired me.  I had stamp sets that were close to the ones she used.  Randi is a Stampin’ Up gal! Randi Collins YouTube video can be accessed Here and her blog can be accessed Here.  Please take a look at how incredibly talented this lady is!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and again if you want to learn how this technique is done, please follow the above links, Randi gives an excellent tutorial.

Greetings, today we are going fishing!  I just LOVE these adorable bears and this Go Fishing set from Sunsational Stamps is so versatile.  You can use this digi set for so many occasions.

Fishing You Were Here Card

The background was super easy, I used my eBosser to cut out two sizes of stitched squares and a stitched circle, as well as the stitched clouds from Lawn Fawn.  I used paper scraps from my stash, so I am not sure who the manufacturer is, but I do know they are old enough to have been discontinued. teehee…

Close up of Bears in Go Fishing

I purposely colored the canoe with the lines to show wooden boards.  I colored all the elements with alcohol markers and fussy cut them out.  I popped up the canoe with foam tape to give it dimension.  I put it all on a Poppy colored base from Close To My Heart and then added it all onto a Lagoon cardstock card base also from CTMH.

I hope you liked today’s card.  Please follow the blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button.  Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing!

Close To My Heart, CTMH, Splitcoast Stampers, YouTube

Hi there fellow paper crafters, today I have made a reveal card…I am not even going to try to explain it.  It is so easy, but I am sure I will make it seem more complicated that it is.  Instead, I will link you to the YouTube I used.  This Splitcoast Stampers tutorial is awesome, so click Here to open it and learn!

Monkey Around Card

I made a card for the daughter of my bestie that is expecting her first child…and by the pink on the inside, you can guess it is going to be a girl!

I stamped this with Close To My Heart’s Wild Wonders stamp set (I believe it is retired) and CTMH patterned paper and cardstock.  I will post a few pics of the card to showcase it as it is revealing.  Just pull the little green ribbon tab and it will reveal a message.  🙂

See, as the monkey disappears, the toucan and his message are revealed.

The vine that the monkey is holding onto is hand drawn by non other than ME, as the straight vine stamp could not be manipulated that much, and I wanted the monkey to be able to hang on to something.

The inside of the card also utilizes more stamps from this set.  I stamped the hippo in Hollyhock ink, the sentiment in Pixie and the vines in Pear.

Alcohol Marker, Bazzill, Close To My Heart, CTMH, Elizabeth Craft Designs, Honey Bee Stamps, Taylored Expressions

Greetings, today I created another card for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop.

Coffee Helps Card

The first step in making this card was creating the background paper.  I used Raisin Boat’s Need for Tweed background stamp and stamped it in Pear ink from Close To My Heart onto light green Bazzill cardstock.  Next I stamped and colored the adorable stack of cups from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Tea Time stamp set.  I colored them with alcohol markers and used the matching die to cut it out.  The framework was die cut from Bazzill cardstock and I have to apologize, as I am not sure exactly who makes the wonky frames…it could be Taylored Expressions or Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I put my dies on magnetic sheets and organize them by subject and I throw the packaging away. 😦

I used a sentiment from the new Honey Bee Stamps Blaa Blaa Blaa set, heat embossed it and layered it onto the card.  Finally added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Bubblegum and called it done!

Alcohol Marker, Bead Strings 2, Close To My Heart, Coffee Loving Card Makers, Copic, CTMH, Distress Inks, Elizabeth Craft Designs, Lucky Clover, Peel-Off Stickers, Sunsational Stamps, Twisted Citron, Wilted Violet

Good Morning!  Today is a great day to grab a cup of joe and take a look at all the coffee inspiration my fellow crafty bloggers have to offer.  We are honored to be a part of the Sunsational Stamps Super Sponsoring of www.coffeelovingcardmakers.com Coffee Lovers Blog hop!

I am so excited to be part of this fabulous blog hop!  I am a huge fan of coffee and coffee related things…cups, pots, donuts, the whole shebang.  I went with a puny card today, another fave of mine.  I wanted to make a card that encouraged individuality.

I used the iconic carry out coffee cup from Sunsational Stamps Love You Latte and printed it several times.  I colored them with Copic markers, making one of them different as you can see!  I printed a second set so I could pop up the lids to give it added dimension.  The cup sleeves were cut from some decorative corrugated paper I had on hand.

I made the sentiment using a retired Close To My Heart alpha set called Hopscotch.  I drew in the giant coffee bean to make the ‘O’ in Espresso.  I used one of the dies in Elizabeth Craft Designs Bead Strings 2 to create the page division.  I cut it from a piece of cardstock that I had blended Distress inks in Twisted Citron, Lucky Clover and Wilted Violet.  I topped off each “bead” center with ECD Peel-off Gems, because…well, you gotta have some bling!

Thank you for hopping by today, and I hope you enjoy the remaining stops on our hop.  You can link back to Sunsational Stamps Blog or Coffee Loving Card Makers Blog

Sunsational stamps is offering a $25 dollars Digital Image Certificates and two flash prizes of $15 & $10 Digital Image Gift Certificates, so please do participate in the blog hop to be eligible to win some exciting prizes.

Amy Tangerine, Close To My Heart, CTMH, Doodlebug Designs, eBosser, Lawn Fawn, Memento Inks, MFT, Nuvo Crystal Drops, Raisin Boat Stamps, Tonic Studios, Versamark, Wink of Stella

Hello, today I had to make cards for a couple of friends that are struggling with difficult life issues.  The style of the cards I created lend themselves to really any occasion.  They can easily be adapted for birthday, congrats or sympathy, just by changing up the sentiment and color choice.  I did not want these cards to be maudlin, I wanted them to lift the spirits without being silly or too light-hearted.

Hi, Thinking of You

Inside of Hi card

This first card I used Raisin Boat Growing Love stamp set that I stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Pacifica Blue ink from CTMH for the berries and graphic blooms.  I stamped twice so I could get two shades of blue and I LOVE the lighter version, it is so pretty.  I added Nuvo Crystal Drops by Tonic Studios in Navy to add dimension and interest to a few of the blooms.  The HI die cut is from MFT, I got it free with a promotion, and you all know I love promos!  I cut it several times in Beetle Black cardstock by Doodlebug, glued all the layers together and topped it off with clear Wink of Stella, and dotted my “I” with an enamel dot.  I finished the top layer off with a piece of ribbon from my stash (that looks like it was made just for this card) and added that layer to the card base.

For the inside of that card I used Lawn Fawn‘s Scripty Sayings and added a little butterfly stamp from a CTMH set, layered that on black and called it done!

Floral Hugs

Inside of Floral Hugs

My Floral Hugs card was created using one of the blooms from the same Raisin Boat set Growing Love.  I stamped the flower in Terra Cotta ink from CTMH and then re-stamped it using Versamark ink.  I then sprinkled clear embossing powder on the images and hit it with the heat tool.  I ran the paper with the images through my eBosser using a CTMH confetti embossing folder.  I fussy cut out the flowers and set aside.  I then cut a piece of Amy Tangerine paper I have had FOR…EVER on a bit of an angle and adhered it to the card base.  I added the flowers to cover up the seam and stamped Big HUG in Terra Cotta ink from my CTMH Big Hugs stamp set.

For the inside I stamped off that same flower in the Terra Cotta to make a much lighter version and then stamped Thinking of You from the CTMH Seaside Greetings stamp set (also in Terra Cotta).  I layered that panel onto the Amy Tangerine patterned paper, added it to the inside of the card and Voila!

I hope you enjoyed the cards for today.  Please follow our blog by clicking on the ‘Follow Me’ button, Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing!

Alcohol Marker, Carta Bella, Close To My Heart, Copic, CTMH, Queen & Co

A sweet hello to you!  Today we are making a birthday card using the extra pieces from the die cuts we made on the Valentine card a few of weeks ago.  You can see that post Here.  In that card we cut out a cupcake and used a precut pop-up shape for the shaker part.  For this card we are using the inside of the cupcake shape for the top of the ice cream cone as well as, the other negative pieces from those cut outs.  The patterned paper is  Cool Summer by Carta Bella and the solid papers are Close To My Heart.  The ice cream top is from the Queen & Co Sweet Treats kit.  I am all about using every extra scrap I can!

Pieces of the Birthday Card

Pieces of the Birthday Card

The first thing I did was cut out the ice cream cone and the large scoop of ice cream using the dies that came with the Queen & Co Sweet Treats kit.  You may not be able to see it in the photos but the ice cream cone die also embosses it at the same time.  So cute!  I glued the small ‘negative’ of patterned paper to the ‘negative’ of the cupcake frosting from the previous card.  I then used a pink Copic to color the ribbon and tied it to the large piece of patterned paper and glued that to the card front.  I then layered white cardstock onto the Chocolate cardstock.  I assembled the ice cream cone, allowing the larger ice cream scoop to break out of the borders of the mat.  Finally I stamped the inside of the card with a sentiment from the Close To My Heart Cricut Artiste Birthday Wishes set, it came with the Artiste cartridge.  I stamped it in Pixie ink and called it a day!

Close To My Heart, Copic, Cricut, CTMH, Distress Inks, Henry the Mouse, Honey Bee Stamps, Stampendous, Whiff of Joy

Howdy procrastinators!  I have one final Valentine card post for this year.

Henry the Mouse by Whiff of Joy Valentine Card

Henry the Mouse by Whiff of Joy Valentine Card

This card has a lot of steps but it goes together pretty quickly.  First I stamped Henry and masked him off so I could make the background.  Second I made a heart stencil by cutting a heart from one of my Cricut cartridges and putting the open part of the heart over Henry and tipped it a bit for interest.  Then I stamped A-Muse scripty background stamp in Close To My Heart’s Whisper ink.  Leaving both the mouse mask and the heart stencil in place, I inked the heart with Tattered Rose Distress Ink.

Mask and Stencil Step

Mask and Stencil Step

Once I removed the mask and stencil, Henry was ready to color.  I used various grey Copic markers, pink for the ears, pads on his little feet and nose, and of course red for the heart he is hugging.  🙂

I stamped LOVE from that Stampendous stamp set I used earlier this week, stamped the inside of this card with Honey Bee stamps Beautiful Life set, added the colored panel to some Echo Park paper and voila!

I hope you have a very nice V-Day and I would love it if you would follow my blog by clicking on the button and Like us on Facebook so you don’t miss a thing!

Carta Bella, Close To My Heart, CTMH, Queen & Co, Sweet Treat Shaker Kit

Hey there Cupcake!  Today I am featuring the Queen & Co shaker kits and accessories.  I made a Valentine for the daughter of a friend of mine.  I also made a birthday card using the Sweet Treat set.

Queen & Co Sweet Treat set

Queen & Co Sweet Treat set

I used Carta Bella paper to cut out the cupcake top and to use as the card base.  I used CTMH Lagoon cardstock for the cupcake liner.  The kit includes precut foam pop-up shapes, precut acetate for the shaker window, sentiments as well as, cupcake and ice cream cone dies.  I love these dies because they can be used without the other kit items and they emboss pleats into the cupcake liner and pattern marks into the ice cream waffle cone.  The kit also included various colors of shaker elements, I used the fuchsia and light lavender beads.  I topped it off with one of the sentiments that is included in the kit and it says “I like you more than Cupcakes” which I think means a lot!  😉

To assemble these, Queen & Co has several YouTubes, so if you purchase one of these kits or any of the individual elements, I suggest you check out one of these tutorials for ideas and tips.  It seriously took me longer to decide on the cardstock I wanted to use than to die cut and assemble these cards.  Love how simple yet adorable they are.

Close To My Heart, CTMH, Distress Inks, Doodlebug Designs, Gold Foil Tape, Honey Bee Stamps, Stampendous, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick

Greetings fellow card makers!  I am not telling you anything new when I say Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so, I have a few projects that I will be posting for the next couple of days to help you with some last-minute card ideas.

Valentine Cards using Honey Bee Stamp Set Beautiful Life

Valentine Cards using Honey Bee Stamp Set Beautiful Life

Inside of Valentine Card

Inside of Valentine Card

Honey Bee Stamps are so stinkin’ adorable and the set I used here is Beautiful Life.  This card was inspired by a card that one of the DT member’s on Honey Bee Stamps Blog created.   Beautiful Life stamp set has dozens of images, words and sayings and I found the cutest little checkmark in this set, although I did not use it on these cards, I will soon.  🙂

I started out by using a circle stencil and applying Tattered Rose Distress Ink, then I removed the stencil and lightly applied Tattered Rose Distress Ink again, this time over the entire panel.  I actually made a large panel that I cut into three parts so I could make several cards at one time.  I then used Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and stamped various hearts from the set inside some of the circles.  I stamped some of them full strength and some of them I stamped off to give a variety of shades.

I die cut tags from some of the heart pattern paper as well as gold cardstock.  I stamped LOVE from an old Stampendous stamp set onto the heart pattern tags and inked the edges of these tags.

I then cut strips of chevron black on black patterned paper from Close To My Heart and adhered both the heart panel and the chevron strip to a card base.  I covered the seam with CTMH Gold Foil Tape.

Finally, I tied pink and white Doodlebug baker’s twine to the tags and added them to the front of the cards.  I stamped the inside of each card with the You Are Loved sentiment from the Honey Bee set, stamped some hearts around the sentiment and called it done!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card, and please click on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook so you don’t miss a thing!
