Hi All, today I made my card for the July Scrap The Boys Card Challenge.  It is a birthday card for my Son-in-Law and I colored the pickup truck to match his real one!

Pickup in Pieces Birthday Card

This month is a sketch challenge and the prize is posted below.

Here is the sketch, and we would love if you would play along with us!  Just click here to get there!

I used the pickup truck from Honey Bee Stamps, Little Pickup.  I colored it with alcohol markers.  I actually stamped two of them, so when I die cut the circles out of the truck sections I didn’t have to worry about overlap.

I mounted the sections of the truck onto grey cardstock circles that I die cut one size up from the truck sections.  I then mounted that onto CTMH tone on tone cardstock that was cut about 2/3 of the way down to create two sections.  I cut the Happy Birthday using my Elizabeth Craft Design die, cutting it out of two different shades of blue to create a shadow by mounting the lighter layer slightly off-center of the bottom layer.  I added this to a white card base and added distressed silver sequins from Close To My Heart and called it done.

Please head on over to the Scrap The Boys blog to see all the inspiration and we would love to see your card entered in the challenge too!  Just click here to get there!  I hope you enjoyed today’s card and are inspired to join in on the fun.  Please follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing.  Thanks for stopping by!

Hi, thanks for joining me today for my July Creative With Stamps Card Challenge, the theme is Flags…this can be interpreted in so many ways, but I have a friend whose birthday is on Independence Day, so I went with a traditional American flag and added a celebrating little pooch.

Patriotic Pup

I started by cutting a piece of red cardstock with my new Die Cuts and More striped background die that I just won from Kat Scrappiness!  I mounted that onto a white card base.  I added a blue square and topped that off with white enamel stars from Close To My Heart.

I colored the Tim Holtz dog and flag with alcohol markers and mounted it onto the flag background with foam squares. I die cut the sentiment “Celebrate” out of blue cardstock and added it above the pup and called it done.

Please follow the linkHere to the Creative With Stamps blog so you can play along with our challenge, remember you can enter anything with a Flag theme and there are prizes!

I also am playing along with the Kat Scrapiness July challenge, which is backgrounds. Since I received this background die from them in a very generous prize package, I thought it only appropriate. ❤ You can reach their Challenge Here

Welcome back!  I needed a card to pick up my Sister-in-law’s spirits and I wanted to work it into the Coffee Blog Hop, so here is what I created…

Donut Worry – Coffee Helps Card

I used several of my coffee sets for this one.  The background on the base is repeat random stamping utilizing stamps from Your Next Stamp – Coffee Rings and Newton’s Nook – Falling for You.  I stamped the images in CTMH Champagne ink.  The large coffee cup and donut were from Close To My Heart – Treats of Friendship.

Close up of Glazed Donut

My chocolate glazed donut was colored with alcohol markers, then I added the sprinkles using Nuvo Pearl Drops in pink and white.  Once those dried, I put a thick layer of Glossy Accents over the glaze and voila!

I mounted the cup and donut onto a small piece of patterned paper from the Crazy for Coffee collection from Your Next Stamp and popped it up with foam tape.  I spelled out “DONUT WORRY” using letters from an Authentique collection in my stash and mounted all of this onto a white card base.

The inside was stamped with “COFFEE HELPS” using my Honey Bee Stamps Blaa Blaa Blaa set.

I hope you have time to hop on over to the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Spring/Summer Blog Hop to get some inspiration and perhaps you can play along too!

A Latte Birthday Wishes

Hello, I am back today with another card for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Spring/Summer Blog Hop.  I look forward to these each season, there are so many different styles to get inspired by…Fun, fun, fun!!!

A Latte Birthday Wishes Card

I started with a fun layered background.  First I put Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade onto my craft mat and spritzed it very generously with water.  I then took a piece of watercolor paper and smooshed it into the inks, drying and redipping the paper until I was happy with what I had.  Then I used two separate background stamps, one with a dominant design and the other with a less dominant design.  They were both stamped in Slate Gray ink from Close To My Heart.  I had taken a background layering class with my friend Andi at a previous Scrapbook Expo and I learned a lot in that class, I hope it shows.  🙂  The background stamps I used in my card are from JustRite.  They make huge background stamps, so you can orient it onto your card for either portrait or landscape designs.

Next up, I die cut the To-Go coffee cup using a die I won in a grab bag, but I think it is Hero Arts…do not hold me to it though, it was eons ago.  I stamped the cup sleeve with “a latte” and distressed the edges a bit with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink to make it stand out.  I sponged that onto the lid as well to give it a bit of depth and definition.

I stamped the Birthday Wishes sentiment in Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink and clear heat embossed it.  That stamp set is from a retired CTMH set.  I cut it out and popped it up with foam squares.  I wrapped American Crafts twine around the base and mounted that onto black cardstock, then onto the white card base.

Well, thank you for stopping by and if you have not been to the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop yet, please pop over there by clicking Here and get inspired and join in the fun!

AALL & Create, Close To My Heart, Creative With Stamps Challenge, CTMH, Lawn Fawn

Sunny greetings to all, today is our post for the Creative With Stamps Challenge for May, where the theme is MOM.  In the month of May here in the United States we celebrate Mother’s Day and the start (at least this year) of the more summery weather and sunshine.  That is why I had to use the beautiful stamp set by AALL and Create Stamp Set #37, which reminded me very much of the sun or a flower.  It is a beautiful Zentangle style design.  The set has a circle/spiral filled with all sorts of pretty doodles and there are extra stamps in the set as well.  There is a cloud that also resembles a crown (ideas floating around in my head), leaves, scalloped arcs, striped arcs and bubbles.  I won this and three other fabulous sets that I will feature in the near future.

I stamped it in VersaMark clear ink and heat set it using my antique gold embossing powder.  I had a blast watercoloring it in with my Distress markers and water brush.  I added a hillside using my Lawn Fawn Stitched Landscape die.  I wanted to make it look like the sun was rising from behind the hill, but I didn’t want to hide too much of that gorgeous design.  In addition to some embossed clouds that I had stamped from the stamp set, I also stenciled on additional cloud formations.  I popped up the Happy Mother’s Day sentiment which is from a very old Close To My Heart set and mounted it all onto a medium blue card base.

Please head on over to the Creative With Stamps Challenge to get some inspiration and we would love to have you participate, so enter your Mom themed cards!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card, thank you for stopping by, please follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing!

Howdy Doo!  Today on the Scrap The Boys Card Challenge the challenge was to use Black & White and one more color, I chose turquoise, plus this month’s sketch, which can be found Here, so head on over and link up your creation!

I have always LOVED black and turquoise together, I had this vision of a vintage car, and since turquoise is a very vintage car color, I thought it would work well for this project.  The card is for my dad’s birthday and I know he will love the Route 66 reference as well as the cars.

STB Route 66 Card

The stamp set is Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Road Trip, I stamped the vintage car three times in Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink onto turquoise cardstock.  I die cut a large circle with the turquoise cardstock and embossed it with Tim Holtz Riveted Metal embossing folder.  I die cut a slightly smaller black circle and embossed that one with the Tim Holtz Diamond Plate embossing folder.  I layered them onto the black card base, added the strip with the cars on top.  I stamped the Route 66 road sign and the sentiment “The Journey Is The Destination” in black onto white cardstock, heat embossed them and cut them out.  I popped both of them up using foam tape.  For the final touch on the outside I added Nuvo white enamel drops to a few spots.

The inside of the card was stamped using a combo of Simon Says Stamp and Close To My Heart stamps, I used the Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink on white cardstock and layered it onto a mat of turquoise.

Please head on over to the Scrap The Boys blog to see all the inspiration and we would love to see your card entered in the challenge too!  Again, just click here to get there!

Hello all, it is the beginning of March and with that comes the start of Easter and Spring cards.  Today I started on my Easter cards and could not resist this super adorable bunny!  His little feet are just TOO cute 🙂

Hoppy Easter Card

You can find Hoppy Easter to Some Bunny Special image at Sunsational Stamps Shop.  I colored him in with my alcohol markers and fussy cut him out.  I cut out a 3 1/2 inch egg shape using my Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge by Close To My Heart.  I manually centered it on the panel.  I backed the panel up with some patterned glitter paper I had purchased at Scrapbook Expo, it was the perfect pattern and color combo for an Easter egg.  I popped this all onto a pink Swiss Dot print paper called Gran Canyon from Moda Scrap (yes it is Gran…that is not a typo)  🙂  The sentiment inside says… “To Some Bunny Special”.

I just LOVE those feet!

Be sure an check out this months challenge, the theme is ‘Anything Goes” so enter whatever wonderful project you are working on, you can find the post and link up by clicking Here.  Good luck, we can’t wait to see what you all create!

All That Glitters

Close To My Heart, Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge, CTMH, Glacier Ink, Lagoon Ink, Ranger, Ranger Silver Tinsel Embossing Powder, Sunny Studios, Versamark

Salutations!  All that glitters is NOT just gold, it is silver, and snow and glass too!

I had to make some tags for our annual Christmas Ornament Exchange party and could not resist Sunny Studio Stamps Holiday Style to fill the bill.

I started out by stamping the pine branch in VersaMark ink and sprinkling Ranger Silver Tinsel Embossing Powder on it and heat setting it.  This was the first time I used it and just LOVE the look.  Helpful Tip… Begin the heat setting/melting process from underneath the image, then finish up on top, the reason is, it gives the glitter pieces a chance to adhere and not get blown right off the paper.  Same concept as when you use the thick embossing powders.

I hope you can see the sparkle of the “tinsel” it is really beautiful in real life.  🙂

Next I stamped the ornament, beginning with Close To My Heart Glacier ink for the base layer circle and stamping CTMH Lagoon, which has been stamped off once, as the shadow piece.  It was way too dark to do without stamping it off first.  I added a piece of silver jewelers thread to “hang” it from the branch.  I popped up the ornament with a foam square, stamped “FROM” in Lagoon ink on the bottom, snipped off the top corners, added some matching blue baker’s twine and called it done.

I thought this would be a great project to submit for a Non-Traditional Holiday Colors challenge #273 going on at Color My Heart – Color Dare Challenge Blog, you can see all the great inspiration Here or even submit some inspiration of your own!

Close To My Heart, CTMH, Exacto Knife, Justrite Stamp Co, K&Company, Sunsational Stamps

Hi there, today I needed another Halloween card so I couldn’t wait to use the cute little spooks in the Spooktacular Halloween digi set by Sunsational Stamps.  I love how adorable these little characters are.  This set packs in a lot of images, and you can find it Here.

I started out by making two background pieces using the JustRite Crackle and the JustRite Brick background stamps.  I stamped the Brick background on a piece of medium grey cardstock using Close To My Heart Slate ink.  I then stamped the Crackle background onto white cardstock using CTMH Whisper ink.  I VERY LIGHTLY sponged the Whisper ink onto the white cardstock so it would just barely tint the paper but not to blend out the crackle pattern.

The next step was to cut my windows in the crackle patterned piece.  I used a 1-1/4″ square and a 3-1/2″ circle (that I only partially cut) to form the half circle window.  I then trimmed the bottom using an Exacto knife and straightedge.  I backed this piece with a light yellow cardstock so it looked like eerie light coming from the windows.

I printed out the super cute pumpkin, ghost and bat, then colored them using my Copic markers.  I fussy cut them out leaving a very thin outline, so they popped a bit.  I added each one to a window.  I then drew in spider webs and added this panel to the brick background piece using foam tape to pop it up.  The whole shebang was added to a white card base.

I found this shiny and whimsical Happy Halloween border piece in my stash.  It was from an old K&Company collection I have had since a class I took many years ago at Scrapfest, gosh I miss that event…sigh.

I hope you enjoyed todays card, please follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing!
