Hello there!  Today I was working on Valentines, one of my favorite cards to make 🙂  I used the adorbs digi set from Sunsational Stamps called Monster Love.  There are so many cute monsters and saying in this set, I am going to make a bunch of valentines with each one!

Monster Love Valentine Card

I printed out the monsters and chose this one-eyed fuzzy one.  I colored him with three of my green Copics, flicking toward the center, working from dark to light, to try to give the illusion of fur.

I die cut the word LOVE and some hearts from Doodlebug glitter paper that has a tone on tone chevron pattern.  I glued those onto a black card base.  I stamped the word YOU in VersaMark, added white embossing powder and heat set it.  I added a googly eye to the monster and popped him up over the O in love.

Please head on over to our February Challenge by clicking Here and enter your own Valentine for a chance to win.  You also can download a free Digi when you head on over.

I am super excited to be entering my card in the Creative With Stamps Challenge #23, you can access their blog Here to enter your creation or just to get some fabulous inspiration!  The second challenge I entered my card in is Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge and you can find the link to that Here and the third challenge is with 2 Crafty Critter Crazies Challenge #11… they allow make-believe and fantasy type critters as well there, so I figured a monster was ok with them.  You can wander over there by clicking on the link Here.  The forth challenge is with Word Art Wednesday Challenge #321 that you can get to by clicking Here.

I hope you enjoyed todays card, thank you for stopping by, please follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagramso you don’t miss a thing!

Sweet greetings to y’all, today I made an anniversary card for my hubby.  I used the adorable Woodsy Critters digi set from Sunsational Stamps that you can get Here. This set is packed with many adorable images…critters and their accessories.  🙂

I chose the bear…as you can tell from previous posts, I am partial to bears.  I colored him with Copic markers.  I also colored and die cut some adorable bees and hearts from one of my favorite Honey Bee Stamp sets Busy Bees and the sentiment was from the Bee-You-tiful Sentiments set, which I embossed with an older Ranger embossing powder in Lettuce Green.  The hive was made using two kinds of hearts from the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  The tree branch was actually the tree from my Elizabeth Craft Designs die All Seasons Tree.  I am famous for using die cuts in a non traditional way…I like to get the most bang for my buck!

I added Wink of Stella shimmer to the bees wings and the hearts.  I used Ebony Nuvo Drops for his eyes.  I LOVE the look on his adorable little face.

I used a Lawn Fawn landscape die on some Bazzill cardstock in green (sorry, I forgot to take note of the color name) added that to sky blue cardstock.  Mounted that onto a piece of Kraft cardstock and put the whole kit-n-kaboodle onto the card base.  I forgot to mention that I had popped up the “beehive” and I did not adhere the leaves down, just the stem so the leaves have a little dimension.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  Please follow the blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button, Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing!

Alcohol Marker, Basic Grey, Copic, Crescent Tag Topper, Distress Inks, Fishtail Banner, Sunny Studios, Sunsational Stamps

Hello there!  I am continuing on my Christmas in July mode, I knew I was going to need some extra tags for the holidays and I wanted to use my new image from Sunsational Stamps, Snowman Soup Set which you can find Here.  This set is so cute, besides having several cups of wintry delight to choose from, there are many sentiments and adorable faces you can add to your snowmen.

Snowman Soup Tags

To make the tag I used Sunny Studios Crescent Tag Topper Dies and their Fishtail Banner Dies.  I absolutely love these in combination with one another.  The tag top has several sizes to choose from and you can make them as long or as short at you like.  The toppers also come with adorable little reinforcer dies in various shapes, I used the circle and star for my tags.  The Fishtail Banner dies come in four styles, and I used them all!  They have deep tick marks in each die to make lining them up straight on your project a breeze!

The paper I chose was Basic Grey, from my stash, obviously an oldie since they have been out of business for a while now.  I love finding stuff in my stash I completely forgot about…it is like Christmas morning when that happens.  Pun intended.  😉

Snowman Soup Tags

I colored my snowman with Copics and I shaded the cups with Distress Inks.  The white base was scored 1/8 inch from edge on all sides to give it subtle interest.  I popped up the mugs on the front of the tag, added bakers twine (from the dollar bin at Target) and voila!

Remember there is still time to enter our July Challenge, just upload any Christmas themed project you like and you will be entered in a drawing for a fabulous prize from Sunsational Stamps.  Click Here to get to the challenge.  Good luck!

I hope you enjoyed our tags today and please follow our blog by clicking on “Follow Me”, Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing!

Seasons greetings! Sunsational Stamps is featuring Christmas in July so my thoughts have shifted to getting some of my Christmas cards started.  I have to make what seems like millions of them and most have to be mail-friendly, so this design has dimension and detail but it is almost completely flat.

Santa’s List Card

I used Sunsational stamps Santa’s List and colored this adorable elf with my Copic markers.  I used the colorless blender to give his pants a plaid-like pattern.  (I hope you can see it)
The bells on his shoes were colored using Scrapbook.com‘s gold metallic marker. I fussy cut it out to pop it up (just a little) with foam adhesive, onto my background.

Background

Which brings us to how that was created.  I used a piece of 140# watercolor paper and stamped Raisin Boat’s Lollipop background with clear VersaMark ink, sprinkled it with Ranger white embossing powder and heat set it.  I smooshed some Distress inks in Candy Apple Red and Picked Raspberry onto my craft mat and then dropped some water on them to get my watercolor ready. Next I generously swiped water on my embossed piece and then started dropping color into the little ‘lollipops’ in a random order. Finally I spritzed the watercolor panel with perfect pearls that I have premixed in a mini mister. Stamped the inside with ‘You’re on the SWEET list!’ and called it done.  I went with a mix of traditional green along with non traditional light green, light red and bright pink for my color scheme.  I kind of lean toward the brighter colors for my cards, but I do mix it up since I make so many.

Alcohol Marker, Bead Strings 2, Close To My Heart, Coffee Loving Card Makers, Copic, CTMH, Distress Inks, Elizabeth Craft Designs, Lucky Clover, Peel-Off Stickers, Sunsational Stamps, Twisted Citron, Wilted Violet

Good Morning!  Today is a great day to grab a cup of joe and take a look at all the coffee inspiration my fellow crafty bloggers have to offer.  We are honored to be a part of the Sunsational Stamps Super Sponsoring of www.coffeelovingcardmakers.com Coffee Lovers Blog hop!

I am so excited to be part of this fabulous blog hop!  I am a huge fan of coffee and coffee related things…cups, pots, donuts, the whole shebang.  I went with a puny card today, another fave of mine.  I wanted to make a card that encouraged individuality.

I used the iconic carry out coffee cup from Sunsational Stamps Love You Latte and printed it several times.  I colored them with Copic markers, making one of them different as you can see!  I printed a second set so I could pop up the lids to give it added dimension.  The cup sleeves were cut from some decorative corrugated paper I had on hand.

I made the sentiment using a retired Close To My Heart alpha set called Hopscotch.  I drew in the giant coffee bean to make the ‘O’ in Espresso.  I used one of the dies in Elizabeth Craft Designs Bead Strings 2 to create the page division.  I cut it from a piece of cardstock that I had blended Distress inks in Twisted Citron, Lucky Clover and Wilted Violet.  I topped off each “bead” center with ECD Peel-off Gems, because…well, you gotta have some bling!

Thank you for hopping by today, and I hope you enjoy the remaining stops on our hop.  You can link back to Sunsational Stamps Blog or Coffee Loving Card Makers Blog

Sunsational stamps is offering a $25 dollars Digital Image Certificates and two flash prizes of $15 & $10 Digital Image Gift Certificates, so please do participate in the blog hop to be eligible to win some exciting prizes.

Artbooking, Bo Bunny, Copic, Cricut, Spectrum Noir, Sunsational Stamps, Wink of Stella

Howdy-do!  Today I decided to do a scrapbook layout.  I have been so busy making cards lately that I haven’t had much time for my first passion…scrapbooking.

I recently came across some pictures of our family at a local fireworks festival.  A polo field near our home has a fireworks display every year and we prefer to park at the church across the street from the field than park in the polo field…it can be quite messy.

Fireworks Couple Layout

First I printed out the Fireworks Couple digi image from Sunsational Stamps and colored it with my Copic markers.  I used a Wink of Stella gold and a Spectrum Noir blue shimmer pens for the fireworks, for that extra something, something!

Fireworks Couple Layout Close-up

I cut the layout mats using my Artbooking Cricut cartridge.  I cut extra stars, numbers, letters and little rockets using the same cartridge.  The foundation is Bazzill paper and the center anchoring strip is Bo Bunny.  This is going to end up being a two page layout, so I will post the other page when I have it completed.

Alcohol Marker, Copic, Distress Inks, Elizabeth Craft Designs, Lawn Fawn, Mermaid Lagoon, Speech Bubble Edgy Options, Sunsational Stamps, TCW

Hello one and all, today we are thinking summertime.  I am using the Mouse and Flower  stamp set from Sunsational Stamps that you can find Here.  The little mouse seeking shade under the daisy makes me smile. I am a huge fan of daisies and believe it or not, mice…the cartoon version that is.  🙂

Hello Mouse & Flower Card

First off, I used an oval template, taped down to the lower right corner of my cardstock, and then taped a chicken wire stencil ( from TCW) over that. I sponged on Distress Ink in Mermaid Lagoon.  Once I removed the stencil, I again sponged more Mermaid Lagoon over the entire oval opening.  This process darkens the already inked pattern and lightly colors the actual chicken wire outline. Then I colored this cute little fella with my Copic markers and fussy cut the mouse and daisy.  I used foam squares to pop it up on the stenciled area.
For the ‘Hello’ (by Lawn Fawn), I die cut both a piece of orange cardstock as well as the yellow speech bubble which is a die set from the Speech Bubble Edgy Options set by Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I did this so I could inlay the word into the bubble and eliminate bulk for easy mailing.
This panel was adhered to a top folding white notecard and it was complete.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  Please like us on Facebook follow us on Instagram and follow our blog so you don’t miss a thing!

Alcohol Marker, Carta Bella, Close To My Heart, Copic, CTMH, Queen & Co

A sweet hello to you!  Today we are making a birthday card using the extra pieces from the die cuts we made on the Valentine card a few of weeks ago.  You can see that post Here.  In that card we cut out a cupcake and used a precut pop-up shape for the shaker part.  For this card we are using the inside of the cupcake shape for the top of the ice cream cone as well as, the other negative pieces from those cut outs.  The patterned paper is  Cool Summer by Carta Bella and the solid papers are Close To My Heart.  The ice cream top is from the Queen & Co Sweet Treats kit.  I am all about using every extra scrap I can!

Pieces of the Birthday Card

Pieces of the Birthday Card

The first thing I did was cut out the ice cream cone and the large scoop of ice cream using the dies that came with the Queen & Co Sweet Treats kit.  You may not be able to see it in the photos but the ice cream cone die also embosses it at the same time.  So cute!  I glued the small ‘negative’ of patterned paper to the ‘negative’ of the cupcake frosting from the previous card.  I then used a pink Copic to color the ribbon and tied it to the large piece of patterned paper and glued that to the card front.  I then layered white cardstock onto the Chocolate cardstock.  I assembled the ice cream cone, allowing the larger ice cream scoop to break out of the borders of the mat.  Finally I stamped the inside of the card with a sentiment from the Close To My Heart Cricut Artiste Birthday Wishes set, it came with the Artiste cartridge.  I stamped it in Pixie ink and called it a day!

Close To My Heart, Copic, Cricut, CTMH, Distress Inks, Henry the Mouse, Honey Bee Stamps, Stampendous, Whiff of Joy

Howdy procrastinators!  I have one final Valentine card post for this year.

Henry the Mouse by Whiff of Joy Valentine Card

Henry the Mouse by Whiff of Joy Valentine Card

This card has a lot of steps but it goes together pretty quickly.  First I stamped Henry and masked him off so I could make the background.  Second I made a heart stencil by cutting a heart from one of my Cricut cartridges and putting the open part of the heart over Henry and tipped it a bit for interest.  Then I stamped A-Muse scripty background stamp in Close To My Heart’s Whisper ink.  Leaving both the mouse mask and the heart stencil in place, I inked the heart with Tattered Rose Distress Ink.

Mask and Stencil Step

Mask and Stencil Step

Once I removed the mask and stencil, Henry was ready to color.  I used various grey Copic markers, pink for the ears, pads on his little feet and nose, and of course red for the heart he is hugging.  🙂

Ready to color Henry

I stamped LOVE from that Stampendous stamp set I used earlier this week, stamped the inside of this card with Honey Bee stamps Beautiful Life set, added the colored panel to some Echo Park paper and voila!

I hope you have a very nice V-Day and I would love it if you would follow my blog by clicking on the button and Like us on Facebook so you don’t miss a thing!

Alcohol Marker, Close To My Heart, Copic, CTMH, ShinHan, Stamp of the Month

Greetings fellow Paper Crafters!  Today I wanted to make some Thanksgiving cards and I have been eager to try a technique that is new to me called Spotlight Stamping.  I saw a couple gals in the paper crafting community showcase this technique lately and I couldn’t wait for Autumn…the leaves were a perfect way to utilize this.

Spotlight Stamping Thanksgiving card.

I used my MISTI and made two identical card fronts.  I stamped leaves and acorn from the CTMH Fall Harvest stamp set, randomly placing them to fill in the entire page .  I colored one of the stamped panels with my alcohol markers and then die cut a rectangle out of the center and popped it up with foam tape above the identical uncolored panel.  I topped that off with a “Life is Good” banner from the Love This Story stamp set also by CTMH.  The interior of the card was stamped with CTMH Year Round Cheer, Give Thanks stamp.

I colored in the pumpkin pie with alcohol markers and called it done!
