Sweet greetings to y’all, today I made an anniversary card for my hubby.  I used the adorable Woodsy Critters digi set from Sunsational Stamps that you can get Here. This set is packed with many adorable images…critters and their accessories.  🙂

I chose the bear…as you can tell from previous posts, I am partial to bears.  I colored him with Copic markers.  I also colored and die cut some adorable bees and hearts from one of my favorite Honey Bee Stamp sets Busy Bees and the sentiment was from the Bee-You-tiful Sentiments set, which I embossed with an older Ranger embossing powder in Lettuce Green.  The hive was made using two kinds of hearts from the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  The tree branch was actually the tree from my Elizabeth Craft Designs die All Seasons Tree.  I am famous for using die cuts in a non traditional way…I like to get the most bang for my buck!

I added Wink of Stella shimmer to the bees wings and the hearts.  I used Ebony Nuvo Drops for his eyes.  I LOVE the look on his adorable little face.

I used a Lawn Fawn landscape die on some Bazzill cardstock in green (sorry, I forgot to take note of the color name) added that to sky blue cardstock.  Mounted that onto a piece of Kraft cardstock and put the whole kit-n-kaboodle onto the card base.  I forgot to mention that I had popped up the “beehive” and I did not adhere the leaves down, just the stem so the leaves have a little dimension.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  Please follow the blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button, Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing!

Greetings everyone, today’s card is a wedding card.  I used hearts to depict the bride and the groom.  I got the idea from some pins on Pinterest, and ran with it!

Wedding Card

Wedding Card

I used my Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge to cut out 3 hearts; two with the white embossed paper and one of the Charcoal Gray cardstock.  I embossed mint green cardstock for the background and mounted that on more of the white embossed paper and put that all on the Charcoal Gray base.  I cut the center section out of one of the white hearts to make the “shirt” for the groom and added a bow tie from my Close To My Heart Puffy Stickers.  Then I added tiny pearls to the dress and black pearls to the dress shirt.  I also used a Fiskars eyelet border punch to make two strips for to transition the green paper to the white.

The inside was layered and stamped with an old Stampin’ Up! wedding stamp set that was gifted to me by a scrappy friend…Thanks Kim!  I embossed it with Ranger silver embossing powder and called it done.

Greetings, I have been busy making lots and lots of cards.  I made a few more of the pop-up box cards.  To see the tutorial on how to make one of these great cards, click the link here:  https://papercanvascreations.wordpress.com/2015/03/01/the-abcs-of-a-box-card/

For today’s Rad Grad card I used Close To My Heart Chalk It Up paper pack, compliments and embellishments.  Here are pictures of my pop-up grad card.

Hey, Hey!

Well it looks like Spring has finally arrived and with Spring comes baseball!  I finally got back to doing layouts for a few days and I wanted to share a couple of layouts that I made as part of a Spring Break album.  The first layout was of Spring Training in Scottsdale for the Chicago Cubs vs the Seattle Mariners.  We had a blast!

Baseball Spring Training Layout

Baseball Spring Training Layout

I used the Close To My Heart Cricut Artbooking and Art Philosophy cartridges for this layout.  The film strip and camera was from Art Philosophy and the word Baseball as well as the baseball at the bottom of the film strip were from the Artbooking cartridge.  The “Spring Training” and “Go Cubs” were from Doodlebug’s Teeny Type alpha stickers.  The baseball gear is from Jolee’s stickers.

The second page for this album showcased some pool frolics with my daughter and niece.  It is the second side to a layout I featured a while back.  This one utilized the same color combos so they coordinated and I used a layout challenge from Debbie Hodge “Get it Scrapped”.  She is so incredibly talented and I learn so much about design principles from her.

Layout based on "Three Acts" principles.

I am going to end this post with the message above…Sunny Days!  Yes indeed.

Cheerio!  Today’s post is centered around a birthday gift of relaxation.  My Bestie from ‘way back when’ had a birthday recently and she happens to be a tea fanatic.  She also is a bit frazzled with work.  So her gift was a no-brainer!  Tea, a relaxing candle & card.  🙂

The Tea House was so fun to make.  I used Cricut Sweet Tooth Boxes cartridge, which cuts all sorts of fun boxes to hold treats and surprises.  I cut the small sweet shop box and filled it with a variety of tea bags.

Finally I need to add a card so I can tell her how much her friendship means to me.

Happy Harvest to you! I don’t need to remind anyone that Thanksgiving is just around the corner, but there is still plenty of time to put together some cards for those special people in your life that you are grateful for.

I have been busy making many different designs because I have a very sweet collection of autumn stamps and stamp sets that include saying of gratitude.

Bits & Pieces for the makings of an assortment of Thanksgiving cards

The tree card was stamped with Close To My Heart – Always Grateful, as well as the inside of that card.  The sign on the wood grain embossed card was also stamped with a sentiment in this set.

I colored the tree and grass with a small sponge dauber and Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  I used Scattered Straw, Wild Honey & Peeled Paint.  I mounted the picture onto golden-yellow card stock.  I wrapped a K&Co. gold ribbon around a piece of patterned paper cut 1/8 inch smaller than the card base and assembled as shown above.  I stamped the inside with Cocoa Brown Memento ink using a sentiment from the stamp set.

Wood grain Embossed Card

This card was made using the Teresa Collins eBosser and Tim Holtz wood grain embossing folder.  I cut out leaves from various patterned paper using the Close To My Heart Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  This same leaf and acorn are in the CTMH stamp set Fall Harvest and I stamped the acorn and then colored it with my ShinHan alcohol markers.  I used that stamp set with the leaf and acorn cut outs for the next card seen below.

Life is Good and Fall Harvest Stamp Sets Used

Using my Cricut I cut out the leaves at 2 inches and stamped them with CTMH pigment inks (Topiary, Sunset & Cranberry).  I just love how vibrant the colors are.  I stamped the wreath and “Life is Good” with the CTMH Remarkable Wreath (retired) stamp set.  The wreath was stamped in 3 layers.  First I used Sunset pigment ink with the leaf half circle and of course stamped it twice to make a circle.  Then I used the Cocoa Brown Memento ink to stamp the wreath over the leaves.  Last, I stamped the berries in Cranberry pigment ink as the top layer.  The inside was stamped with the Curlicues Alpha set that came with the Close To My Heart Artfully Sent Cricut bundle.

I hope you enjoyed todays cards and techniques.  Thank you for stopping by and remember to click on the left panel to follow our blog so you don’t miss a thing.  Like us on Facebook and stop by our online shop for more inspiration!

The Proposal

Hello Fellow Paper Fanatics!  Do you remember the movie The Proposal starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds?  In a nutshell the characters make a proposal to one another to get married to mutually benefit each other’s careers (and keep Sandra’s character in the country).  The two did not like one another in the beginning but end up in love at the end.  Well that is where this week’s project relates (if only symbolically) to the movie.

A friend’s son came to me and proposed an idea he had, to help him with his upcoming marriage proposal, by making a mini album using pictures of the two of them.  Oh and the caveat…he needed it right away.  Initially I hated the idea…well, not his mini book idea, but the idea that I had next to no time to do it and although I am not a perfectionist, I am a little picky about the finished product. But alas, I accepted the business proposal and here is the cover of the finished product.  I am not sharing the inside pages, due to privacy issues.

Greeting to all in Blogville.  I have had to make so many cards lately for so many different occasions, and my stash was depleted, so I had to go back to the drawing board.  I wanted to try something new and that is when I remembered about my  Cricut Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge, talk about versatile!  I have several of the coordinating stamp sets too, so making layouts and cards is a snap.  This cartridge has some fabulous cut outs that specifically make cards and with all the images and stamps available the options are nearly endless.  Take a peek at the photo below for some great card making ideas, and add your spin on them to make them truly your own.  Happy Scrapping!!!
