Here Comes The Bride

Greetings everyone, today’s card is a wedding card.  I used hearts to depict the bride and the groom.  I got the idea from some pins on Pinterest, and ran with it!

I used my Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge to cut out 3 hearts; two with the white embossed paper and one of the Charcoal Gray cardstock.  I embossed mint green cardstock for the background and mounted that on more of the white embossed paper and put that all on the Charcoal Gray base.  I cut the center section out of one of the white hearts to make the “shirt” for the groom and added a bow tie from my Close To My Heart Puffy Stickers.  Then I added tiny pearls to the dress and black pearls to the dress shirt.  I also used a Fiskars eyelet border punch to make two strips for to transition the green paper to the white.

The inside was layered and stamped with an old Stampin’ Up! wedding stamp set that was gifted to me by a scrappy friend…Thanks Kim!  I embossed it with Ranger silver embossing powder and called it done.

The Birthday Train

Welcome back!  Today is my dad’s 85th birthday!  Woo-Hoo!  As he said, “85 and counting!”  The family came by for a big ham dinner (his favorite) and homemade chocolate cake with whipped cream frosting (another one of his favorites)!  So it was only appropriate that I create his birthday card with a vintage locomotive theme…yes, you guessed it, he has loved old trains since he was a tiny tyke.

Happy Easter Wishes

Long time no see!  I am happy to be scrapping again today, I have been on hiatus due to work getting in the way.  Sigh….  But today I was able to make a few projects that you can check out over the next few weeks.

I used ZIG Clean Color Watercolor Markers as well as ZIG Pearlescent Watercolor – Jewel Box, Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Paper and a Stampendous stamp that I have literally had since I started stamping well over 20 years ago.  I just LOVE this stamp, the bunny is so adorable.

The first thing I did was stamp the Easter stamp with Versamark and then I used Ranger Silver embossing powder.  I like using this method when I want to contain my watercolor for a CAS card.  I used a combination of markers and the Pearlescent paints, then mounted the watercolor paper on a black mat then onto some Studio Calico patterned paper that I had in my stash.  I actually made several of these, giving a different color background patterned paper for each one.

I hope you liked our project today and would love it if you would click on the ‘Follow Me’ button and Like us on Facebook so you don’t miss a thing.

Happy Easter and Happy Scrappin’

Greetings!  Today’s card serves a double purpose, it is a thank you card for my dear friend who treated me to my half-birthday lunch.  tee hee….. Any excuse to go to lunch, right?!

The second reason for the “Thank You” is to the fabulously talented Lisa and Janet from Sunsational Stamps for giving me a wonderfully fun seven months on their very creative design team.  Today marks my departure due to extra responsibilities at work…sigh.  I am hoping this is a temporary situation so I am looking forward to this chapter, with hopes I will be able to manage the time necessary to re-join at a later date.

Thanks a Bunch card

On to the details of card…  I used the lovely image Bouquet Of Flowers by Sunsational Stamps. I added some details to the flowers and a little shimmer using Wink of Stella.  I die cut ‘Thanks’ using the Scripty Thanks by Lawn Fawn, I cut it once using gold embossed cardstock (left over from a previous project) and an additional two times using plain white cardstock to give it more depth, then added it to some pink grosgrain ribbon and mounted all of this onto Doodlebug’s Orchid cardstock.

Birthday Wishes From All Of Us!

Howdy all!  Today I needed to create a birthday card from the office gang, so I used a few of the critters from Woodland Friends.  You can find this great set here at Sunsational Stamps.

I fussy cut some of the critters and added them atop one another to a watercolored background. I used Gelatos for my watercolor medium.

I popped up two of the mushrooms to give it a little dimension, then to finish off the front I added a few puffy butterfly stickers from the Junebug collection by Close To My Heart and the sentiment was the CTMH Puppy Party stamp set that I manipulated in a wavy pattern for a little more added fun.  🙂

Slip Sliding Away

Slide on over and see what we have created today!  We tried our hand at a new technique…we made a slide card today.  There are several tutorials on YouTube for these, I kind of watched a few of them and combined what I learned to create this card. It is for a little boy turning 2, and he just happens to LOVE the movie Cars and anything that with tires.  Lol!!!

I added a “2” to the side of the car, for the child’s age and to make it more like a “race car”.  The inside was stamped with a CTMH set, and I basically used up supplies from my stash!  We hope you enjoyed today’s card and we hope it was inspiring.  Please follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Us” button and Like us on Facebook so you don’t miss a thing!

Woodland Hugs

Good Day Love!  Valentine’s Day is just a few short days away, so I am wrapping up my Valentine cards.  Speaking of ‘wrapping it up’ today’s card includes a yummy little treat held with a hug.  🙂  I was inspired by Laura from Doublestick Heaven Blog, she is incredible.

I used the Woodland Friends images that you can find here at Sunsational Stamps.  I fussy cut out the log and the raccoon.  I cut two raccoons and colored the back of the second one then attached them together, that way when I folded the hands inward (to  hold the Hershey Nugget) it would be finished on both sides.  I popped up the leaves on the log and the feet of the raccoon.  I attached the candy with Scor Tape and folded in his paws.  The background was sponged with Distress Inks in the following colors; Faded Jeans, Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Evergreen Bough and Peeled Paint.  I began with the Peacock Feathers which is the center color and built and blended outward.

The sentiments were from the Close To My Heart January Stamp Of The Month set Beautiful Bouquet.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card, and as always we would love it if you would follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Us” button and Like us on Facebook so you don’t miss a thing!

I colored in the images using ShinHan alcohol markers.  The gold stars on the sentiment were colored using American Crafts Permanent Gold Chalk Pen.  I stamped the smaller stars using Hero Arts white pigment ink.  Finally I tethered the astronaut to his spacecraft using silver thread and used foam tape to pop him up a bit.

Send In The Clowns

Howdy to all the rule followers and rule breakers out there.  Today my card is using the adorable Flipping Out image set from Sunsational Stamps.  As a rule, I am not a fan of clowns, but all rules are made to be broken, and that is why I fell in love with this cute clown!  He is just so cheerful and I can’t help but smile when I see him.

I manipulated his image to give it a fun cartwheel appearance.  Then I colored him with my ShinHan alcohol markers using primary colors on his clothing and of course he has orange hair, because it is such a happy color!  I popped up a heart I had die cut and called it done.  🙂

Happy Fourth Wednesday of January!  Today is the fourth installment of my Old School style Valentines.  We used the whaley adorable I Whaley Love You set from Sunsational Stamps.

I Whaley Love You! Card

I used my eBosser and the large wood grain embossing folder, but I ran my paper in sideways so it would look like water instead of wood.  😉  I die cut stitched circles, one in the white card base and the next size up in the blue embossed paper.

I colored the whales with ShinHan alcohol markers and sponged Tumbled Glass Distress ink on the background.  I added white gel pen dots to the water spouts.  The final touch was to put Clear Droplets from Pretty Pink Posh and little red enamel hearts from CTMH.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  We would love it if you would follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook.
