Hello everyone, today I made a card for my sister-in-law, who is battling cancer.  I send her cards quite often to lift her spirits.  The card today was also my Design Team submission for Creative With Stamps Challenge.  November’s challenge is “Feathers“.  I have wanted to use this fabulous stamp set I received from Unity Stamps named Her Own Hero.  This sentiment is so wonderful to honor any lady that is fighting any type of personal fight.

She Needed a Hero

I stamped the feather stamp in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I then watercolored the feathers and the background using ZIG Clean Color Brush markers and a water brush.  I spritzed the watercolor panel with Perfect Pearls mixed in water to give the design some sparkle.  I mounted the watercolor paper panel onto a black mat and mounted that onto a white card base.

I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, popped it up with foam tape and added Doodlebug enamel dots and called it done!

Happy Autumn greetings! Today’s card is for the Creative With Stamps September Challenge, which is PUMPKINS!

I used the Newton’s Nook Falling For You stamp set and Doodlebug’s Friendly Forest patterned paper.

First I stamped the sentiment on watercolor paper with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink and sprinkled it with clear embossing powder, then I heat set it.  I sponged on Fossilized Amber and Picked Raspberry, overlapping them slightly to get an orange color also.  I trimmed the panel and rounded corners on that as well as the patterned mat and card base.  I layered the patterned paper onto a kraft card base and the watercolor panel onto a kraft mat, attached them together.

I stamped multiple pumpkins from this set, colored them with alcohol markers and fussy cut them out. I added foam squares to pop the pumpkins up a bit.

I am buzzing by to show you my card for the Scrap The Boys Card Challenge.  The August challenge is Geometric, obviously there are so many great options and my head was spinning with various ideas, but the one I went with was Hexagons… specifically, honeycombs.  I wanted to use some of my Honey Bee Stamps products and make a birthday (BEE-day) card for my honey.  😉

I started out with a honeycomb stencil that I received free as a promotion from Honey Bee Stamps with an order I placed a while ago.  I colored texture paste with Wild Honey Distress Ink and spread it over the stencil.  Be sure to clean your stencils right away, or the paste will become difficult if not impossible to remove if it dries.  I let it sit overnight to dry, then I cut out a portion of the honeycomb and popped it up onto a background panel that I embossed using my hexagon embossing folder.

I stamped some bees with the Honey Bee Stamps Busy Bees stamp set and used the coordinating dies, and I colored them in with alcohol markers.  I stamped the sentiment using the Bee-You-Tiful stamp set.  I love the this set, as you can piece together your own sentiments.  I used white embossing powder to make the sentiment POP!  The final touch was to add some dots of Liquid Glass (Close To My Heart’s version of Glossy Accents) here and there.

Please head on over to the Scrap The Boys blog to see all the inspiration and we would love to see your card entered in the challenge too!  Just click here to get there!  I hope you enjoyed today’s card and are inspired to join in on the fun.  Please follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing.  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Summer greetings!  The August theme for our Creative With Stamps Challenge is Father, so I am posting an easel card that could be used as a birthday or Father’s Day card.  I also tucked a gift card for our local Golf Course inside this card so Dad could enjoy a couple of rounds of golf. 🙂

I used Newton’s Nook Winston’s Tee Time set.  I colored the images with alcohol ink and fussy cut them out.  I do not have the dies, but the images aren’t too difficult to fussy cut.

I used Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts for the grassy border and the cloud border.  I raised the grassy border a bit so the card would sit nicely tucked slightly into the grass.

Alcohol Marker, Close To My Heart, CTMH, Elizabeth Craft Designs, Honey Bee Stamps, Little Pickup, Scrap The Boys

Hi All, today I made my card for the July Scrap The Boys Card Challenge.  It is a birthday card for my Son-in-Law and I colored the pickup truck to match his real one!

Pickup in Pieces Birthday Card

This month is a sketch challenge and the prize is posted below.

Here is the sketch, and we would love if you would play along with us!  Just click here to get there!

I used the pickup truck from Honey Bee Stamps, Little Pickup.  I colored it with alcohol markers.  I actually stamped two of them, so when I die cut the circles out of the truck sections I didn’t have to worry about overlap.

I mounted the sections of the truck onto grey cardstock circles that I die cut one size up from the truck sections.  I then mounted that onto CTMH tone on tone cardstock that was cut about 2/3 of the way down to create two sections.  I cut the Happy Birthday using my Elizabeth Craft Design die, cutting it out of two different shades of blue to create a shadow by mounting the lighter layer slightly off-center of the bottom layer.  I added this to a white card base and added distressed silver sequins from Close To My Heart and called it done.

Hi, thanks for joining me today for my July Creative With Stamps Card Challenge, the theme is Flags…this can be interpreted in so many ways, but I have a friend whose birthday is on Independence Day, so I went with a traditional American flag and added a celebrating little pooch.

Patriotic Pup

I started by cutting a piece of red cardstock with my new Die Cuts and More striped background die that I just won from Kat Scrappiness!  I mounted that onto a white card base.  I added a blue square and topped that off with white enamel stars from Close To My Heart.

I colored the Tim Holtz dog and flag with alcohol markers and mounted it onto the flag background with foam squares. I die cut the sentiment “Celebrate” out of blue cardstock and added it above the pup and called it done.

Please follow the linkHere to the Creative With Stamps blog so you can play along with our challenge, remember you can enter anything with a Flag theme and there are prizes!

I also am playing along with the Kat Scrapiness July challenge, which is backgrounds. Since I received this background die from them in a very generous prize package, I thought it only appropriate. ❤ You can reach their Challenge Here

Newton Ropes In Father’s Day

Howdy partner!  I could not wait to use my new Newton Rides West stamp set by Newton’s Nook, and I thought Father’s Day was a perfect occasion for it. I also had my Scrap The Boys Cardmakers Challenge that I wanted to fit it into and this month it was hand or machine stitching.  I decided to hand stitch a lasso for Newton to round-up the sentiment with!

Newton Rides West Card

I started with the background by doing a watercolor wash to create a southwestern sky, I did this on watercolor paper.  I added a sand dune to the bottom to ground him and I added the cactus here and there.  I hand drew in a lasso, stamped the sentiment and then back-stitched the lasso in bakers twine.  I originally began with jute, but it kept fraying…so before I completely lost my cool, I just swapped it out for something a little stronger.

I added all this onto a white card base, popping it up a little to leave room in the back for the stitching.

Please head on over to the Scrap The Boys blog to see all the inspiration and we would love to see your card entered in the challenge too!  Just click here to get there!

What’s Up Dog – Cute Critters Challenge Theme

Creative With Stamps Challenge, My Favorite Things

What’s Up?  Today at Creative With Stamps Challenge Blog we have come up with inspiration using the theme of Cute Animals…and in my book, there is no cuter animal than a dog.  🙂

I used the Lucky Dog stamp set from My Favorite Things.  I colored the pup with alcohol markers and die cut both the pieces (I love this particular dog, because he can be peeking over a fence or out a window or just about anything where you can see his front and back).  I wanted to add some patterned paper to the inside-front to make it look like wallpaper.

On the front panel I embossed red cardstock to give the appearance of a brick home, I die cut out a small window and popped his little head there to peek out, as you can see he has dropped his ball in the grass below.  😦

Just a super simple and fun card for a friend’s birthday.  Please follow the link Here to the Creative With Stamps blog so you can play along with our challenge, remember you can enter anything with a cute animal and there are prizes!

Welcome back!  I needed a card to pick up my Sister-in-law’s spirits and I wanted to work it into the Coffee Blog Hop, so here is what I created…

Donut Worry – Coffee Helps Card

I used several of my coffee sets for this one.  The background on the base is repeat random stamping utilizing stamps from Your Next Stamp – Coffee Rings and Newton’s Nook – Falling for You.  I stamped the images in CTMH Champagne ink.  The large coffee cup and donut were from Close To My Heart – Treats of Friendship.

Close up of Glazed Donut

My chocolate glazed donut was colored with alcohol markers, then I added the sprinkles using Nuvo Pearl Drops in pink and white.  Once those dried, I put a thick layer of Glossy Accents over the glaze and voila!

I mounted the cup and donut onto a small piece of patterned paper from the Crazy for Coffee collection from Your Next Stamp and popped it up with foam tape.  I spelled out “DONUT WORRY” using letters from an Authentique collection in my stash and mounted all of this onto a white card base.

The inside was stamped with “COFFEE HELPS” using my Honey Bee Stamps Blaa Blaa Blaa set.

I hope you have time to hop on over to the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Spring/Summer Blog Hop to get some inspiration and perhaps you can play along too!

Perk Up, It’s Your Birthday!

Alcohol Marker, Coffee Loving Card Makers, Elizabeth Craft Designs, Microfine Glitter, Peel & Stick, Sunny Studios, Your Next Stamp

Hi all, I have been eagerly awaiting the next Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop and it is HERE!!!  Woohoo!  Today I made a birthday card for one of my dear friends, and I thought she would love the pun.

Perk Up Card

I started with Your Next Stamp Crazy for Coffee patterned paper mounted on black cardstock, placed on a white card base.  Next I die cut Sunny Studios Fancy Frames Square dies, and placed the outside scallop on the bottom with the coffee cup (info on that to follow) and the inside scallop frame around the Perk Up sentiment that I white heat embossed.  That sentiment came from an A-Muse coffee themed stamp set.

The coffee mug was a Peel & Stick outline sticker from Elizabeth Craft Designs and put it onto Elizabeth Craft Designs Microfine glitter paper and colored it in using alcohol markers.  I fussy cut it out and popped it up with the frame.

The inside teacup and teapot border was a die from Your Next Stamp.  I won both the patterned paper and that fabulous die (along with other great goodies) from them at the last coffee blog hop!!!  The Sentiment is from Honey Bee Stamps (2 different sets), I like to mix it up, obviously!

I hope you enjoyed todays post and hop on over to Coffee Loving Cardmakers for a TON of caffeinated inspiration!  Please follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing.  Thanks for stopping by!
