Howdy all, hoping everyone is staying warm.

Today at Scrap Your Stash we are remixing a fab layout and this is my spin on it.

Love Bandits

I really used a great mix of my stash, including paper from Bella Blvd, Close To My Heart and a huge pad called Newsworthy.  I used dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs and Kat Scrappiness.  Alphas from my stash and rub ons from Doodlebug Designs.  Topped it off with some gems and hearts from above mentioned companies.

Below is the great design we scraplifted it from.  We would love to have you play along and join our challenge.  Please head over to Scrap Your Stash

February Remix

i hope you enjoyed today’s project inspiration and I would love if you followed us so you don’t miss a thing!

Howdy fellow crafters, today I wanted to make a scrapbook layout, I have not had time lately to scrap and I missed it terribly.  I decided I wanted to join in on a challenge, and what better challenge than Scrap The Boys!  I recently announced that I am a new member on their card maker’s team, so I was excited to enter their scrapbook layout challenge.  The link for the challenge is Here and you can enter your own layout or just check out all the other entries and the Design Teams inspiration.

The theme is Great Outdoors, so I had a picture of my hubby being the captain of our pontoon at a lake in Arkansas. 😉

Boating Adventures Layout

The inspiration for the layout was from Get It Scrapped, Single and Pretty lessons by Debbie Hodge.  I love her lessons, they are so well explained and demonstrated.  I have been a member of Get It Scrapped for a long time and I learn something new every time I watch her.  🙂

I used Echo Park and Carta Bella papers, alphas and embellishments.  The View Finder stencil is from Balzer Designs and I sponged it with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink onto a base of Bazzill paper in Lagoon.  The cute little anchor tag is a die I received free with an order and I believe it was from Sunny Studios, but I am not positive.  I looked at their online shop and did not see it there any longer.

I hope you enjoyed today’s layout, thank you for stopping by, please follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram   so you don’t miss a thing!

Howdy-do!  Today I decided to do a scrapbook layout.  I have been so busy making cards lately that I haven’t had much time for my first passion…scrapbooking.

I recently came across some pictures of our family at a local fireworks festival.  A polo field near our home has a fireworks display every year and we prefer to park at the church across the street from the field than park in the polo field…it can be quite messy.

Fireworks Couple Layout

First I printed out the Fireworks Couple digi image from Sunsational Stamps and colored it with my Copic markers.  I used a Wink of Stella gold and a Spectrum Noir blue shimmer pens for the fireworks, for that extra something, something!

Fireworks Couple Layout Close-up

I cut the layout mats using my Artbooking Cricut cartridge.  I cut extra stars, numbers, letters and little rockets using the same cartridge.  The foundation is Bazzill paper and the center anchoring strip is Bo Bunny.  This is going to end up being a two page layout, so I will post the other page when I have it completed.

I hope you enjoyed our layout today, and we would love it if you would like us on Facebook, follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing!

I colored in the images using ShinHan alcohol markers.  The gold stars on the sentiment were colored using American Crafts Permanent Gold Chalk Pen.  I stamped the smaller stars using Hero Arts white pigment ink.  Finally I tethered the astronaut to his spacecraft using silver thread and used foam tape to pop him up a bit.

Oh the weather outside is ….. well, where I live it is actually pretty nice out, but that is NOT always the case.  HA!

Today I made a layout for a picture of my daughter catching snowflakes.  The photo was taken her freshman year at college, and where she went, they didn’t see much in the way of snow, most often it was ice.

In the photo of her, she is wearing a pretty pink hat and I colored the Mary Christmas image and another Catching Snowflakes (see last week) both of them from Sunsational Stamp Shop.  I die cut snowflakes from a Darice Snowflake Die.  I colored in the image with both Copic and ShinHan alcohol markers.  My Let It Snow stamp is an older hostess set from CTMH.  The images and the photo mat are cut from Bazzill Nautical Dark Blue cardstock and mounted onto Recollections Say Freeze paper line.  There was plenty of sequins snowflakes and Wink of Stella added here and there to give a shimmery, frosty feel.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and we would love it if you would follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook.

Santa's List Believe In Me Elves Loading Sleigh

I created this Layout Believe In Me.

Believe In Me Layout

Believe In Me Layout

I just love the spirit of Christmas and believing in Santa symbolically is so important.  I think the world can always use a little bit of holiday magic, so I tried to convey that in my layout.  I am planning on framing this in a shadowbox for display on the mantel.

To create my layout I colored all the images with my Copic and ShinHan alcohol markers then I fussy cut them out.  I cut snowdrifts and used Glossy Accents and WOW glitter to accentuate the drifts.  Next I popped them up with foam tape to give the scene dimension.  I spattered Picket Fence distress paint on the night blue background to simulate snow.  I constructed a North Pole sign with some Little B washi tape and some alpha stickers from my stash.  Finally I added some glittery snowflakes and voila, it is a very busy Santa & Company finishing up with the last-minute details.

Good day!  Do you love autumn as much as I do?  Ah, Autumn is the sentiment I chose from my CTMH collection.  This fabulous image named Fall Tree is from Sunsational Stamps.

IMG_1823

IMG_1824

IMG_1822

I tried a new technique that I thought would add just the right somethin-somethin, and that was Foiling.  I have heard mixed reviews on the MINK foiling machine, so I could not justify buying one until all the bugs are worked out of them…so how did I do it you ask????  I used a laminator.  I happen to follow a terrifically talented artist Jennifer McGuire and she has a YouTube showing how to use a basic laminator for the heat and pressure needed to transfer the foil to the image, and low and behold it worked!  By the way, I borrowed the laminator from my fabulous daughter, love you sweetie!

Image with just the gold foil

Image with just the gold foil.

The trick to getting the foil to stick to the pattern on the paper is to print the design out on a laser jet printer or use a copy machine, the foil needs toner to adhere to the paper.   I printed the Fall Tree image and proceeded to shade in a few of the leaves with a black marker, then I copied it (for the toner).  I heated up the laminator, once the indicator light lit up to let me know it was hot enough, I placed the foil shiny side up onto my design and put it into a folded piece of copy paper, this substituted as a carrier sheet, then I just fed it into the laminator.  I used Spiced marmalade, Peeled Paint, Fossilized Amber & Barn Door Distress markers to color the leaves and Copic E33 & E37 for the tree.  I just love how it turned out!

I plan to use this in a scrapbook layout with some pictures we took at the arboretum last year.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post and perhaps it inspired you to try the foiling technique on your next project.  Please be sure to follow our blogs by clicking on the button on the left for Paper Canvas Creations and clicking on this link http://sunsationalstamps.blogspot.com to get to Sunsational Stamps blog.  Like us on Facebook too, so you don’t miss a thing.  Happy Scrapping!

For my project I used the Happy Howl-aween image below.

Happy Howl-aween Watermarked Stamp

I created this layout with the Happy Howl-aween images and I just LOVE how the ghosts are so whimsical.  I am all about cutesy Halloween!

Happy Howl-aween layout

Happy Howl-aween layout

I printed the digital image in several different sizes.  I used the largest size of the tombstone and ghosts for the foreground and the moon.  Then I used smaller varying sizes of the tombstones and ghosts and fussy cut them separately so I could pepper them throughout the scene.  I fussy cut hills and popped up the front hill so I could layer the tombstones.  The haunted house and fence were cut out using the CTMH Artbooking Cricut cartridge.  I then distressed the edges of the title and sponged on Scattered Straw Distress Ink and attached it to a piece of orange tulle that I gathered in the center to make a spooky bow.

Howdy Partner!  Today I am so excited to share my scrapbook layout I created with the Boot Scootin’ Belle image along with the Corn Stalk and Hay Bale images from Sunsational Stamps.  I fashioned Belle after my good friend since I was just a young in’. So my nickname for this image is Rootin’ Tootin’ Rita!  😉

Boot Scootin' Belle Layout

I colored the images with a mixture of both alcohol markers and Distress markers.  The background sky is sponged on Tumbled Glass Distress ink.  I colored some natural twine with my Copic E33 and wrapped it around each hay bale.  I cut the hay that is under her feet with the Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts Grassy Border die.  The patterned background foundation paper is from my stash and I have to say it is very old.  It is Harvest Time by Susan Winget for Paper Adventures…I think she now designs for EK Success, but don’t quote me on that.  The photo mats are Bazzill card stock and the chipboard letters are also an oldie from my stash…
