Welcome back!  I needed a card to pick up my Sister-in-law’s spirits and I wanted to work it into the Coffee Blog Hop, so here is what I created…

Donut Worry – Coffee Helps Card

I used several of my coffee sets for this one.  The background on the base is repeat random stamping utilizing stamps from Your Next Stamp – Coffee Rings and Newton’s Nook – Falling for You.  I stamped the images in CTMH Champagne ink.  The large coffee cup and donut were from Close To My Heart – Treats of Friendship.

Close up of Glazed Donut

My chocolate glazed donut was colored with alcohol markers, then I added the sprinkles using Nuvo Pearl Drops in pink and white.  Once those dried, I put a thick layer of Glossy Accents over the glaze and voila!

I mounted the cup and donut onto a small piece of patterned paper from the Crazy for Coffee collection from Your Next Stamp and popped it up with foam tape.  I spelled out “DONUT WORRY” using letters from an Authentique collection in my stash and mounted all of this onto a white card base.

The inside was stamped with “COFFEE HELPS” using my Honey Bee Stamps Blaa Blaa Blaa set.

I hope you have time to hop on over to the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Spring/Summer Blog Hop to get some inspiration and perhaps you can play along too!

Alcohol Marker, Distress Oxide Ink, Elizabeth Craft Designs, Faded Jeans, funky Line Panel Die, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers, Queen & Co, Scrap The Boys, Shimmer Sheetz, StazOn Ink, Tim Holtz, Twisted Citron, Your Next Stamp

Hello, today we needed a card for the month of May’s Scrap The Boys Card Makers Challenge and the challenge was a fab mood board, that I have displayed below so you can play along too!

I love the colors and the stripes in this, so that is what I ran with….and I suppose the dog was a good substitute for the horse.  🙂

I used the Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs set along with the “Crazy Accessories” set for the hat stamp and balloon dies.  I colored the images with alcohol markers and used the matching dies to cut them out.  I cut balloons from Shimmer Sheetz by Elizabeth Craft Designs in the emerald and sapphire jewel tones.  I stamped JOEY 4 onto the balloons with StazOn Ink and tied them to the bone with black thread.

The background was made by blending Faded Jeans, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Inks.  I spritzed it with water and dabbed dry to get the speckles.  I cut it out using my all time favorite background die, the Your Next Stamp Funky Line Panel Die and just adhered the whole kit-n-kaboodle to the medium blue card base.  I popped up the pup to give him a little more dimension.

The inside was stamped with the balloon from the previously mentioned set and I hand drew in the string that ties it to the sentiment from a Queen & Co gift box themed shaker card kit.

Please head on over to the Scrap The Boys blog to see all the inspiration and we would love to see your card entered in the challenge too!  Just click here to get there!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and are inspired to join in on the fun.  Please follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing.  Thanks for stopping by!

Ahoy Sea Lubbers, today we made a card for my friends little girl, as you may have guessed she LOVES fish.

I wanted to make a slider card, I always make her interactive cards and I thought this one would work perfectly with the adorable Mermaid set from Sunsational Stamps, which you can locate Here.  I colored everything with alcohol markers and fussy cut them all out.  I used Close To My Heart cardstock that is shiny on one side and matte on the other…I figured the shiny chevron worked great for the water and the scalloped brown worked well for the sand.

Be sure and check out this month’s challenge, you can find the post and link up by clicking Here. Good luck, we can’t wait to see what you all create!

AALL & Create, Close To My Heart, Creative With Stamps Challenge, CTMH, Lawn Fawn

Sunny greetings to all, today is our post for the Creative With Stamps Challenge for May, where the theme is MOM.  In the month of May here in the United States we celebrate Mother’s Day and the start (at least this year) of the more summery weather and sunshine.  That is why I had to use the beautiful stamp set by AALL and Create Stamp Set #37, which reminded me very much of the sun or a flower.  It is a beautiful Zentangle style design.  The set has a circle/spiral filled with all sorts of pretty doodles and there are extra stamps in the set as well.  There is a cloud that also resembles a crown (ideas floating around in my head), leaves, scalloped arcs, striped arcs and bubbles.  I won this and three other fabulous sets that I will feature in the near future.

I stamped it in VersaMark clear ink and heat set it using my antique gold embossing powder.  I had a blast watercoloring it in with my Distress markers and water brush.  I added a hillside using my Lawn Fawn Stitched Landscape die.  I wanted to make it look like the sun was rising from behind the hill, but I didn’t want to hide too much of that gorgeous design.  In addition to some embossed clouds that I had stamped from the stamp set, I also stenciled on additional cloud formations.  I popped up the Happy Mother’s Day sentiment which is from a very old Close To My Heart set and mounted it all onto a medium blue card base.

Please head on over to the Creative With Stamps Challenge to get some inspiration and we would love to have you participate, so enter your Mom themed cards!

Close To My Heart, Distress Oxide Ink, Ranger, Sunsational Stamps

Welcome, today I wanted to make a card for my Sister-in-Law who is struggling with health issues.  I wanted it to be bright and cheery and spring-like…since Mother Nature is not cooperating in our neck of the woods, I had to make it happen with art.  🙂

I used my big floral stamp set from Sunsational Stamps, you can find their shop Here.  I stamped it several times in VersaMark clear ink onto Ranger Watercolor Paper and heat set it with fine white embossing powder.  I then used a rainbow assortment of my Distress Oxide Inks and added them here and there.  While it was still wet I splattered a couple of the colors on by flicking a paintbrush.  I wanted it to spread a bit and look all dreamy.

I stamped Big Hug from a retired Close To My Heart set and heat set it with fine white embossing powder as well.  I cut it into a tag shape, punched a small hole in the side and added twine I colored with alcohol markers to match the coral color of one of the inks and the card base.

I layered the panel onto black cardstock, added it to the card base, popped up the sentiment with foam squares, added iridescent sequins and called it done.

Be sure and check out this month’s challenge, you can find the post and link up by clicking Here. Good luck, we can’t wait to see what you all create!

Howdy Doo!  Today on the Scrap The Boys Card Challenge the challenge was to use Black & White and one more color, I chose turquoise, plus this month’s sketch, which can be found Here, so head on over and link up your creation!

I have always LOVED black and turquoise together, I had this vision of a vintage car, and since turquoise is a very vintage car color, I thought it would work well for this project.  The card is for my dad’s birthday and I know he will love the Route 66 reference as well as the cars.

STB Route 66 Card

The stamp set is Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Road Trip, I stamped the vintage car three times in Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink onto turquoise cardstock.  I die cut a large circle with the turquoise cardstock and embossed it with Tim Holtz Riveted Metal embossing folder.  I die cut a slightly smaller black circle and embossed that one with the Tim Holtz Diamond Plate embossing folder.  I layered them onto the black card base, added the strip with the cars on top.  I stamped the Route 66 road sign and the sentiment “The Journey Is The Destination” in black onto white cardstock, heat embossed them and cut them out.  I popped both of them up using foam tape.  For the final touch on the outside I added Nuvo white enamel drops to a few spots.

The inside of the card was stamped using a combo of Simon Says Stamp and Close To My Heart stamps, I used the Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink on white cardstock and layered it onto a mat of turquoise.

Please head on over to the Scrap The Boys blog to see all the inspiration and we would love to see your card entered in the challenge too!  Again, just click here to get there!

Alcohol Ink, Alcohol Marker, Sunsational Stamps, Yupo Paper

Hi Sistas and Gentlemen!  This month is all about the ladies at Sunsational Stamps.  I used the Lotus Flower digi stamp on today’s project.  I colored this beauty with alcohol markers and fussy cut it out.  I added it to an alcohol ink colored Yupo panel, as I was trying to replicate a Monet-esk background.  I had so much fun making the panel.  I dropped blue and purple alcohol inks onto the paper and added Pearl Metallic Mixative as well as blending solution.  I just kept adding a little of each until I liked the outcome.  Word of warning if you decide to do this…. do this in a WELL VENTILATED ROOM.  I didn’t take the warning seriously and got super light-headed, so I will definitely heed this advice on my next round.

Please pop on over to April Challenge which is Mother’s Day themed and to get your free digi stamp by following the link Here.  We cannot wait to see your inspiration!

Salutations!  Today is my first post as a member of the fabulous Creative With Stamps Design Team and I am super excited.  It is also Creative With Stamps 2nd Anniversary!  The sponsor of this month’s challenge is Pattie’s Creations Digital Stamps, and I used her Black-eyed Susan digi.  I decided to make them into Purple Cornflowers, but that just shows how versatile these beautiful images are.

Pattie’s Creations Digital Stamps Black-eyed Susan

I colored this beautiful digital stamp with my alcohol markers and then sponged on Tea Dye Distress Ink as well as Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  I cut the card base using a large postage stamp die, but I first folded my cardstock in half, positioning the top part of the die above the top of the fold, this creates the postage stamp shaped card base.

I used the two larges frame dies by Elizabeth Craft Designs (they are retired and I don’t remember the name) to cut out a dark brown cardstock frame to make the image pop.  I added a bow using Doodlebug Baker’s Twine and popped the image up onto the card base using foam tape.  I added my sentiment and called it done.  🙂

Please stop by the challenge and link up one of your creations following the theme of CAS with a sentiment, by clicking Here.  We can’t wait to see the projects you come up with!

Rainbows, Beads & A Chick

Alcohol Marker, Distress Oxide Ink, Queen & Co, Sunsational Stamps, Your Next Stamp

Hello, I hope you are having a chirpy…I mean chipper day! Today I made another Easter card using one of the adorable images from Sunsational Stamps Hoppy Easter to Some-Bunny Special set and you can find it Here to make some-bunny a card yourself. 😉

I used this super cute chick and colored her in with alcohol markers, I have been practicing my flicking and I am happy with how the ‘feathers’ came out.

I made the shaker element first by making a rainbow panel using my Distress Oxide inks in a wavy wonky pattern. Then I die cut the panel using my Your Next Stamp Funky Lines Panel die…so we had all sorts of wavy, wonky colorful goodness going on.  I cut two pieces of fun foam also, to pop the panel up.  I wanted to use a rainbow of beads from Queen & Co as the shaker elements, but I wanted to segregate them to keep similar colors restricted to their area.  Because the colors were wavy, I decided to make three separate sections and put a mixture of two colors of beads together, for example; violet and blue, then blue and green, etc.  I assembled the shaker adhering it to a base of medium blue.  I felt the color choice and placement enhanced my chickie and made her pop.

Be sure and check out this months challenge, the theme is ‘Anything Goes” so enter whatever wonderful project you are working on, you can find the post and link up by clicking Here. Good luck, we can’t wait to see what you all create!

Scrap The Boys Card Makers March Challenge

14 Wednesday Mar 2018

Posted by PaperCanvasCreations in Cards, Challenge, Design Team, Paper Crafting, Technique

Greeting!  Today I am SO excited to unveil my Design Team inspiration for the March Card challenge over at Scrap The Boys.  Please grab your favorite beverage and take a few minutes to visit their blog to get some inspiration for this months challenge.  There is a fabulous prize, so please consider joining in on the fun by linking your masculine card that the sketch inspires in you!  Click Here to get there 🙂

I began by stamping one of the images from my Close To My Heart, A Thing Well Done set in Memento Rich Cocoa ink onto kraft cardstock and then die cutting it with my stitched circle die.  I die cut a larger stitched circle in a dark brown to mat the image.  While I had the eBosser going, I die cut some cogs (sorry I do not know the maker of the dies) and the word CONGRATS from Tim Holtz Celebrate Sizzix Thinlet Block Words.  I cut that out of two coordinating Core’dinations Distressed papers that I had in my stash.  I now have the negative of this inlay for another card, BONUS!

I inked the cogs in Walnut and Tea Dye Distress Inks to make them look rusty and well…distressed.  😉  I used Moda Scrap Manly Man paper as the cards background, mounted that onto the same dark brown cardstock I used for the large mat circle and wound some twine around the bottom before adhering it to the cream card base.  I added all the elements, stamped the inside with “The reward of a thing well done is to have done it” a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson.  I thought that was quite appropriate for a retirement card for a friend of the family.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and are inspired to join in on the fun.  Please follow our blog by clicking on the “Follow Me” button and Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing.  Thanks for stopping by!
